  1. Me too. Tuesday seems our best day of the week for some snow, as is often the case The ppn dies out by the time if reaches herts. You should do well though TEITS I didn't mean to start a huge arguement! Sorry if it came across that way I think what I'll do is ignore ramps more than anything from 36+ hrs away.
  2. I was never aiming at you totally and I'm aware you have always posted with caution! I think Steve M seemed to really ramp it up! Please do not call me an idiot, no need for that! You don't see me calling members idiots who posted " day after tomorrow" posts!
  3. And I'm sick and tired of Reading ramp after ramp only for members like yourself having to explain why the charts look different 2 days later! A lot to learn? At least I have enough knowledge to understand not to ramp up the ECM knowing full well it will backtrack. The areas mentioned do have warnings your right? But only 40% of the counties mentioned have warnings! I have my feet firmly on the ground and love model watching as my hobbie but I also like to be very realistic. I am going to enjoy my week of sun, any surprise snowfall will be a bonus
  4. yes EA - not the home counties So my statement is true for my area - sun all week apart from Tuesday I doubt very much I'll be getting a shovel at the ready like experience members were posting on Friday night do you?
  5. the voice of reason.....! I still can't believe people posting 'day after tomorrow' posts especially from senior experienced members! Looks like beautiful clear skys to look forward to the rest of this week away from Kent and EA
  6. Morning everyone, looks like east Kent could do well with snow today! For my area including london and the rest of the home counties Tuesday looks like seeing snowfall but other than that it's bone dry right up until the weekend! The more experienced posters were really ramping up this week for snowfall on Friday night " the SE will shut down" I got slated for keeping my feet firmly on the ground guess what? Sun sun sun all week apart from Tuesday with a little snow! EA, Kent look doing ok though! I love a ramp too, but wish people especially members who know better would not ramp up charts that were 5 days away. You must be realistic! Don't get me wrong these charts are stunning and I fully appreciate them, but they don't seem so good when it's bone dry away from Kent and EA! Have a good Sunday everyone :-)
  7. Why do to think??? Because 80% of the time it all downgrades nearer the time! I admit I'm just learning and have no analysis why it won't happen! ECM seems to want to change it's mind on a daily basis! I guess what I'm trying to say is in the 3 years of model watching never EVER have the models been the same on the actual day when predicting 5 days plus! I'm just remaining extremely cautious!
  8. 100% agree! SE shut down??? No chance.. If these charts are showing 36/48hrs before then I will hold my head in shame! I'm only going on the most likely option and the most likely option is these charts are eye candy and will most likely look different come Sunday! If any member would like to explain to me why 'this time' is the one...and why I should believe that the se will shut down then please do! I love ramping and the banter but Christ... It's very unlikely (the most likely option) (historic option)
  9. WISE words ...... The charts will probably look different come Monday! Beautiful looking charts... Yes! But really........ Last weekend that low was modeled to bring a possible foot of snow to Wales and the Midlands..! The SE and EA, midlands was suppose to be under heavy snow showers all day today -was also backed up by the countryfile forecast as well - niether happened
  10. whooaaa... Steve that looks great for south east! My local radio BBC 3 counties just said, home counties could wake up to a White ground Sunday morning... " and it won't be frost"
  11. I do agree with you to a point, people will post or pay more attention to their area because they live there. Thats just how it goes. As I am trying to learn the models, members ramping snow potential can be a little confusing especially as the met office says none of the sort. All eyes on the 12z... Will it upgrade PPN? I hope so.
  12. Hi TEITS, I think you better go check the update from Met Office. Nothing to ramp about - If you like it dry - Then sure. Looks like turning very cold though
  13. looks great. BUT it's 6 days away! If still showing Saturday then game on but until then ...............
  14. Met office have Bucks under UPDATED severe weather for heavy SNOW http://metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/se/se_forecast_warnings.html
  15. Back to Heavy wet Sleet here Could this turn to wet snow tonight???????????
  16. I know, was not expecting that. Lasted for 5 minutes. Back to plain rain now. Obviously was in the heavier PPN. Just goes to show anything can happen
  17. SNOWFLAKES mixed in with rain now.... Wasnt even expecting this to be honest
  18. Really? Thats not what the forecast I watched said at 12noon on news24.
  19. Interesting. Temp has dropped from 5c at 8am to 2.5c at present. Dew point is 1.3. Now raining with a icy mix - wouldnt even call it sleet though. Feels bitter out there
  20. Good morning, I agree. I was just shocked to see a temp if 5.5c this morning on the drive to work, it actually felt mild as well. Having heard on my local radio that wet snow could fall to the NW of London and the home counties today seems ridiculous. Unless its due to turn colder today which I wasnt aware of, I thought it would turn milder if anything. As for snow falling in my area the middle part of this week, there has been prediction of snowfall from various sources, including net weather members. As you say I think Friday will be a good day to see our first snowflake.
  21. I agree to a point. I think the SE will see snow Thursday/ Friday as this low pulls away. As for snow to the NW of London like I am. No Chance today. Its just to warm. 5c this morning while driving to work
  22. Morning Gang, A positively barmy 5 degrees driving into work this morning. No chance in hell of snow here today in West hertfordshire. About as much chance as me being given the day off work today. Enjoy the cold rain.
  23. the latest BBC weather graphics on TV do not match what's being said on this forum! I'm thinking the beeb have this snow too far south
  24. Now I'm confused! Some net weather members =very brief spell of snow turning to rain for my area tomorrow morning! Latest news24 with matt taylor = heavy snow all day! His words " from Bristol Chanel along m4 corridor everything north will be heavy snow"
