  1. well that was interesting, Sky news going for snow across much of Wales midlands and home counties tomorrow, wet snow into central London too. Heading into Wednesday they have the front across N England Southern Scotland with the midlands and south bone dry!
  2. Alex deakin on breakfast this morning going for snow north of the M4! With the snow line reaching north midlands
  3. Steve, No snow for the home counties then based on ECM?
  4. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. I have been viewing this forum since Xmas eve with a couple of views Xmas day. The models looked spectacular a few days back to the untrained eye anyway, and the way everyone was reacting on here. Im really struggling to make sense of the models and the continued disagreement between members is quite frankly enough to make me go running. Need some advise, of what I can see on the models (Learning) the home counties looks to marginal for snow? Is this true?
  5. Sounds like your having what we had Around 12pm freezing fog came in with a temp of -2 ahead of the showery rain. We now have a temp of 2degrees and light rain. Snow only slightly melting though
  6. The 850hpa was so much lower across england during Mondays event. -5 was over the south Midlands on Mondays event it is now across Northern England. Expect it to be RAIN only from the wash southwards
  7. Such a beautiful drive into work this morning Snow everywhere, glistening on trees and a temp of -5.5. Really is stunning out there a true christmas card scene. Pretty much everything you can ask for pushing into the southern counties. RAIN, SLEET, FREEZING RAIN AND SNOW. http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ What will this be once it hits the home counties?? Do we get a re-run of Monday? Or will it be rain and melt all the snow?
  8. Abbey looked beautiful. Went down to the Waffle house on Saturday. Looked beautiful with the snow and blue sky.
  9. Moderate rain falling. Odd snow flake. Areas to the south of me are in blizzard conditions, quite extraordinary!
  10. Yes Nick. If the PPN does not pivot NW then I can imagine EA and north Home counties to stay dry.
  11. Yes we had a light snow shower here before the main rain band. On the very edge of the rain band and its sleeting now!
  12. Hi Hammer, Hope your well. So you expect it to change over to snow eventually then?
  13. That is just CRAZY......... M3 HAS SNOW AND IM MUCH FURTHER NORTH AND ALL I GET HERE IS RAIN
  14. Absolutely we are west herts and seeing rain. Members in the rest of herts and everyone to the east of us can forget snow.
  15. Seems as though everywhere east of High Wycombe is Rain/Sleet. High Wycombe/ Amersham reporting Heavy Snow.
  16. That is very unfortunate. This is really borderline. Friend tells me its sleeting in St albans as well. Even with St Albans having some elevation. This really is Soaking rain - 10 miles up the road heavy snow stuff.
  17. I have had no thaw what so ever. Best guess what its Sleeting. So whether you have had snow melt or not does not make a difference.
  18. Sleeting here. I really thought it would be just snow. Oh well.. Im 200asl here, so people in cambs and home counties dont be to confident just yet.
  19. Hi Bluearmy I wouldnt worry about that, as with the shower that spread to west London this morning, expect it then to start making a NE movement and start to pivot later this afternoon, especially as it comes into such cold air. St Albans has a great chance of Snow today.
  20. Absolutely - Its quite amusing actually. I think everything this week will be about now casting. As the weather forecast are saying RAIN SLEET OR SNOW......... I think the best thing to do is look out your window and see what is falling from the sky. Everyone has just a good chance of seeing snow just as they do of seeing rain.
