  2. i am a flight doctor for a private company, but in weather like this we assist/backup emergency services. love the job but sometimes its not nice have no choice but to venture out into it. especially in these kind of situations.

  4. evening al,l evening andy! just an update for pontypridd lot - now knowing if you have ventured out! i was in town centre today and the railway station. wetherspoons is a right mess - treacherous snow and ice lying. also worth pointing out that almost all side roads on my way there are not passable. obviously the old gritter priority situation came into force - main routes only. a470 all ok now. very cold one here again tonight. am hoping that forecast for weekend comes off.
  5. actually there is an indoor ski resort in dubai, saudi arabia which alledgedly produces 6000 tonnes of snow to keep the attraction open!! when i said my earlier comment i was just trying to add a bit of fun and sarcasm to the conversation!! LOL
  6. met office emergency weather warning in place and wow - they mentioned south east wales!!! on bbc news!!

  9. ditto same here not say its amazing as i have a conference call with saudi arabia at 4am - opposite extremes LOL! they will be smiling about it being +33 and we can be smiling about the white stuff! i think the gritters been caught out - bad reporting from bbc ( thought I would say it again!!)

  19. andymusic do you think this band will hit us in pontypridd?
  20. actually just heard from friend of mine who works there its due to being over-loaded, spot on.
  21. its either the fibre connections from traffic wales or worse still the fibre connections from cameras to control centre. fibre can operate at low temps but weather can affect satellite links, which the likes of traffic wales use for their uplinks.
  22. A470 update for the likes of andy whos trying to access cams! a470 upper both ways is very slow but moving. snow lying but not too bad. some drivers pulled over to hard shoulder though, guess too worried to drive. schools locally now closing - st michaels, treforest and hawthorn primary. buses from pontypridd town centre - veolia now stopped services - only stagecoach operating one service covering many locations. dynea road, just off cardiff road hawthorn, treacherous, accident on hill, now ambulance skidded into the already done accident. stopped snowin
