kind of stopped here now andy sleety snow. -
tredegar A465 is still looking good so rain not got there as yet? snow starting to stick on pavements and roads here now, very noticeable, hope the rain dont wash it away. when it comes.

as requested andy!!! photos from hawthorn pontypridd, upperboat, a470. as you will see readily sticking to pavements and back yard, but not on the roads as yet. quite heavy snow now. just waiting for this blast due very soon and see how it pans out. keep us posted andy on your thoughts.

2cm here south wales valleys, upper boat, pontypridd, A470. temp -1 degrees. right on border of the warm and cold front. expecting heavier now in next hours time. EDIT getting heavier now in last hour sticking to roads and pavements. -
steadyily snowing here andy, quite heavy at times, pavements and cars covered, 2 cms, roads though wel salted so just wet but starting to settle on pavements.

nice snow here light but big flakes for past 40 minutes. -2 temp, upper boat, pontypridd. not rising as yet. nice covering on surfaces, a470 still moving.

watched bbc news 24 this morning (05.00am) and it defo showed that snow has moved further west into wales right over cardiff and valleys, although that was forecast 1200z only until 1800. but i am crossing fingers, red sky this morning (we all know what that means LOL) yep seen that andy just hope groundhog extends to wales LOL

6 hours later for same day. very interesting.

interesting 0000z run Friday 3/2 for 1800 saturday. if only this stalls slightly west and this would be good! EDIT Tuesday is looking more promising from 0300 through to Thursday 1800 with a nice band of precip over us for a long time, everything crossed! LOL we may miss out this weekend but better chance on tuesday!

Morning everyone on this nice and crispy morning!! OK guys I know we have not even got through the events of this weekend and monday/tuesday next week, but look at this GFS run for Feb 18th, long way off and obviously i know things will change but it looks like a definite event with effects for some people, dont know how far south it will go as yet (if only this was for this weekend!). Thoughts anyone, without slating me for being absolutely barmy looking this far ahead!

GFS 0600 Monday for thursday 1200z is looking interesting. see if that comes off. anyone care agree/disagree? although i know its a long way off.
