Yes i was saying this earlier today. Unless they are waiting for next GFS run to be certain. Also METO have to warn their priority customers (paying weather report customers) first before they will make it public from what I understand. e.g Police, Gas, Electric, Utilities, Aviation etc etc. RED RED RED!!!

I did not think to even record it because I did not expect us to even be remotely mentioned! I have had a dig through and cannot find any previous weather forecasts from them, let alone the one in early hours this morning

yes i think anywhere in SE Wales could be a casualty. Without sounding morbid it would be interesting to see a RED warning issued to see what the agencies pro-active response is and how it is handled.

Wales was mentioned twice last night on World Weather forecast on CNN. Forecaster spent few minutes explaining about the fronts stalling mainly over Wales - quite surreal really coming from a US forecast team! Trying to dig out the video.

whats the bets on METO upgrade to warning to change to RED? Me thinks around 11/12pm today might be an upgrade.

Daybreak weather ITV is showing Wales as sunny for 8am this morning!!! How wrong can they be!! Moderate snow here Upper Boat Tesco, Pontypridd.

just was watching cnn international news and the forecaster on there tom whatever his name seemed to be excited about europe! he was talking about austria having over 20 cms of snow in last 24 hours and then talked about our event..................... he mentioned WALES twice!! Wahheeyy!! His words were - this is going to cause likely conditions as those we saw in various parts of the US in recent weeks - I assume he was on about few weeks ago with the storm there. Nice to see the US mentioning our name! Trying to find video but unable to at moment! But all in all - their models were more or less the same as ours except showing a shift further west in wales. WAAAAHHHEEEEEE!

Seems circles of people in my friends and family are and have been getting warnings from Meto today in advance about potential for issues on Friday. All of this has happened first thing this morning, although only now I found out. Relative who works for large utility company been advised of potential severe disruption for Wales on Friday. Friend who works for a hospital been asked how he is going to get to work Friday if he is unable to drive. Aviation weather report to me - advising to delay/ground/cancel flights in Wales and England for Friday. I think Meto are trying to not alarm public but obviously warning those who need to know. Anyway I want snow, feet of SNOW! I am joining Andymusic club - I want 4 feet of snow - see attachment LOL FEET OF SNOW!!!!

GFS Run 12z 16/01 is showing snow for many parts of south wales from midnight tonight until 1800z thursday evening. Percentage chances anything between 45-70%. anyone got any comments about this as I think we all forgetting about this!

I agree with Jackfrost to be honest - myself further east of pontypridd has seen no snow at all. A470 upper boat tesco.

Aggh my mates and I go to Kilgetty once a week from Pontypridd, for a few pints, food and get together with them, different surroundings for a change! In the summer lods of us go camping down there. Love the place, your lucky to live there (apart from the lack of snow!!)

same here jayne not a flake between 12pm sunday and present! off topic I know but my two best friends live in Kilgetty, they run the RAOB.
