Interesting changes in the METO, maybe they are now getting a grip on whats going to happen. Just been out and about to meet my other half for lunch in Portishead...and i was very supprised.. In my location in Yatton we still have about 5 inches of lying snow with no thaw today. As i travelled to Clevedon the snow started to disappear! Then onto Portishead it had nearly all gone on the roads and pavements! Where the snow had not melted in the shade in car parks it was easy to see how deep the snow was...no more than two inches at best. I think Portishead had more lying snow pre christmas around the 20th due to convection off the Bristol Channel. The thaw has really begun in those locations today. My point is that coastal towns it this sort of weather setup are so much warmer than places a few miles inland. Right now the wind is really picking up...
