  1. Howdy! Please continue your discussions of the weather in the South of the M4 (aka the South West and Central Southern England ) thread! What a remarkable month it’s been so far with a lot of dry, bright weather around, although it looks as though you guys could see a few of these baby’s popping about! Ye olde thread:
  2. Looks like it might be time for another new thread. Reached the magic 200 pages! This will be locked shortly! And a new one will be up and running. New thread:
  3. A guess of 14.5*C and 22mm of rainfall, please. I feel it will be a month that leans more towards settled, warmer side with most rain coming in the form of thunderstorms.
  4. Looking at the models and it really does look like the Atlantic is going for a nice big nap at the moment.
  5. A few clouds about, but otherwise some good bright spells in Sun-lihull at the moment. ?
  6. As a personal preference, charts 1 and 5 would do nicely! (Seem the least unsettled looking) ?
  7. Indeed! A chance that some places to the East and South East getting some flooding from all that! Possibly some services getting disrupted too. And that would be nice. Love to see some nice juicy storms this Summer. Last year was fairly disappointing for thundery weather (at least in this part).
  8. Some embedded convection within the front to my East (had rained a bit earlier here) Also took a recent screen capture of the Netweather radar, which is showing a line of some very torrential rain just to the East and North-East of London, with some red echoes. And maybe some thunder? Looks wild down their!
  9. Quite damp now with the rainband from the East over me. Just light rain, but am surprised how far West it’s getting. Seems to be moving in a mostly Northerly direction, however, so those of you to the West/North-West of Brum will probably stay dry!
  10. That must be the 6th time now Great pic though.
  11. Having a quick look at the models and would have to say that it does all look a bit messy at the moment. Some kind of blocking High Pressure to the North does look a possibility within the next few days or so, and the weather probably being pretty mixed overall. Though chances of some drier, warmer periods, especially between Lows and where ridging from the Azores and/or from any blocking to the North/North-East tries to influence the U.K.
  12. Pretty decent this morning with lots of sunshine, although with a cool wind. The ground’s become pretty dry here too - the generally more settled theme of recently has I feel certainly helped!
  13. Been an reasonable Spring overall (albeit still with the rest of this month to go). I’ve liked the up and down nature of cold and hot spells - the chilly and snowy weather at the start making it feel like Winter, and the hot and sunny weather of late April and May Bank Holiday making it feel like Summer. Do nevertheless feel like that the general coolness of things (excluding those two very warm spells) and the fact that cloudy weather has invaded most days of the season has let it down a little. A little less cloudiness and a little less coolness during the first half of the season (except for the snow, which I like), this Spring, to me, would have been one of the best ever, here. Naturally, I clearly expect Spring to generally start off cool and finish off on a warmer note. But considering the variations that can be experienced it may not always go quite like that, or rather the progression from a cooler start to a warmer end of the season could go unsmoothly. For a Spring, it really does feel like one where all the seasons in one have been experienced!
  14. Reached a maximum temperature of 27*C today. A great enjoyable period of weather it has been. Looks like the rest of the week will be mixed as some sneaky Lows from the Atlantic try to attack, but unlikely to be anything too desperately unsettled!
  15. Yeah, they are, especially the way they walk up towards you! Thought it was worth posting it here due to them looking similar to the pic you posted (minus the face pulling )
  16. Though not from the South East, happened to take a pic of this today while on a May Day walk:
  17. Had a high of 24.7*C, so very very close! Now 21.9*C.
  18. Nice shot! Especially love the way the sunrays poke through behind the clouds like that. Temperature around 10*C currently with some bright spells.
  19. Yep, it should. I suppose today could have still been worse, especially if it had been constantly raining or drizzling all day.
  20. Clouded over with some scattered convection in the last hour, but still quite pleasant.
  21. Definitely an improvement on yesterday. Surprisingly the temperature is only 12*C here at the moment (but rising), although it feels more like +16*C or something.
  22. This is much more like it. Not bad for first day of May!
