  1. Morning all and happy Easter weekend http:////d321955.r.worldssl.net/forum//public/style_emoticons/default/angel.gif I'm making the most of the dry bit of the long weekend here in MK and enjoying the blossom and lovely spring weather today and tomorrow.... ....hopefully by going up to Liverpool Sunday and Monday I will be missing the worst of the rain - seems like the weekend is very much a game of two halves.... http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=news;storyid=5825;sess=
  2. Easter bank holiday not looking egg-cellent then, oh well at least the chocolate won't melt ! http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/bank-holiday-weather-bookies-slash-3417300 ... Just as well Mr P and I are heading North West for the second half of the weekend :-)

  4. Splendid day here today, really nice warm sunshine and lots of people out and about enjoying the Easter holidays which is good... Another chilly night and frosty morning tomorrow by the looks of it ....
  5. Morning all, Nice to see some regional regulars back posing in this thread again, great photos too I’ve also been taking a bit of a break from NW and enjoying the fine weather and the Easter holidays Woke up to a very bright and sunny morning here with a light frost on the roof of the car - certainly a bit nippy out there for some of us first thing....
  6. Evening all, I'm so glad it stayed dry here, I had a very productive morning with two lines of washing, bathed dogs and cleaned the kitchen - then had a pamper afternoon to relax with a nice facial and back massage - I feel exhausted now though so an early night for me and a nice walk and Sunday roast to look forward to tomorrow hopefully !
  7. Morning all, Lovely sunny one here so making the most of it as I'm working this afternoon and evening - no POETS day for me - might be going out for a drink tonight though .....if I can keep awake !
  8. Afternoon all, Another reasonable day here after a chilly start - so far the Easter holidays are going well
  9. Morning all, Lovely bright sunshiny day here - warming up nicely too now after a chilly start
  10. Are we dead yet ? http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/what-is-a-blood-moon-and-other-questions-about-the-upcoming-apocalypse-9246002.html
  11. Here comes that squall line spreading eastward...... Anyone to the east of this line may get some torrential downpours, gusty winds and even the odd rumble or two of thunder, you will certainly know about it if you're caught out in it. Across the South East heavy rain continues with some torrential downpours in places.
  12. That cluster of thunderstorms over Normandy will move NE through Channel to SE England so it's worth watching the progress on the Netweather radar... A storm forecast has been issued for today until tomorrow morning with a risk of squall lines forming with strong winds, torrential rain, hail and possible funnel clouds. http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=convective%3Bsess%3D
  13. Morning all, I'm feeling exhausted after a rather sporty weekend - I galloped round Aintree on Saturday and then did 59 laps round Bahrain International Circuit closely followed by rowing 4 miles down the river Thames yesterday Weather-wise it’s pretty miserable here today, grey and wet and not very nice at all, maybe it’s just as well I'm working! There is a chance of something thundery in the heavier pulse of rain expected later this afternoon…. 14. Afternoon all, No lovely walkies for me today, I've been busy working but my weekend has just started so I intend to enjoy what's left of it and hopefully my now nice clean shiny car (thanks to Master D - it did cost me a pair of football shorts and a top though) will stay dust free ! It seems to have clouded over here and the wind picked up to what is was earlier so I think I've missed the best of the day weather wise but there is still the wine and chocolates
  15. (N)Ice Quiz for you all here .... ...what is the coldest part of an ice sheet? A. The base B. The middle C. The surface D. It's roughly the same temperature throughout. Find the answer in the Know Your Earth Frozen Poles quiz at http://climate.nasa.gov/interactives/frozen-poles-quiz/frozen-poles-quiz I managed to score 10/10 (thanks to a couple of lucky guesses) ...which makes me a scientist
  16. 'noon Mick No POETS day for me either or another day off until Sunday...oh well soon be the Easter bank holiday weekend
  17. Thanks for that - obviously got through the spam filters! Morning all, still a bit hazy here but Air pollution levels are much lower today (As you can see on the left image from DEFRA.) as we pick up more of a south westerly flow.Tree pollen levels are moderate to high though (as you can see on the right image from the UK Met Office.) ......so wheezing might be replaced by sneezing ! Happy Friday :-)

  19. It's been very murky and muggy all day here as if the sun was still shining from behind the hazy cloud but later this afternoon the clouds went really dark, almost as though night had drawn in early, with the sky black, but no rain falling....would be nice to get some clear sky and fresher air !
  20. I did wonder what the smog was like it the city .... ... truly the big smoke then ! Bit disappointed the big black clouds earlier didn't at the very least give us a heavy downpour (would have washed the sand off the car) never mind a TS - it feels like having nearly all the ingredients in stock to bake a cake but just missing something vital !
  21. I did see earlier that there was a chance of something kicking off later this afternoon, the Home Counties into the Midlands could be best place for the chance of a rumble or two....
  22. who would have thought that the only 'blowing and drifting' we were going to see in the region was sand and not snow...can we start a sand depth cup?
