  1. I think we can all safely say if we want accumulating snow in this part of the region, we need a good shift south. Here's hoping it comes.
  2. Comes as no surprise in all honesty, the BBC graphics have looked decidedly dodgy and most models show a short period of transient sleet/snow quickly to rain south of the VERY NORTH and NORTH EAST of the region. We need a 75-100 shift south, which looks unlikely but could happen.
  3. I think us in Staffs need a shift 75-100 miles south to be confident of any accumulations. If things move 50 miles north, we get rain quickly. As it stands it's very marginal, for here it'l be sleety snow - rain, every mile further north you go will have snow lasting for longer and accumulating. We could use a good shift southwards.
  4. I've always thought that it would be a good idea, if we had a 'forecaster' per regional thread to cover things every week, give a little mini forecast once a day and a larger one at the beginning of every work week. Tony has a good go at the weekly forecast which is usually a good read. Obviously during times like this, it'd be nice if we could have someone around the site giving us daily updates on how model output has gone for the day and how this might affect things. I'd love to have a go at the forecasting, but I'm into the basic model viewing and not much of the science behind it so thus my forecasting skills are NILL.
  5. Things look quite a chunk further north at the moment, looks like a snow to rain event for all bar the far north and north east of the region. Hopefully a shift further south over the next 36 or so hours. Interesting comment from Ian F in the mod thread, noting the MO are 'watching for a potential blizzard in 7-9 days' as the atlantic tries to encroach from the SW shortly before next weekend/easter. Wed-Fri the days of interest. Strange for them to even consider mentioning that.
  6. Im betting the nothing extent of this will be, South Glos
  7. Yep I do think tonight was just 1 of many different solutions we'l see in the next few days, ultimately it could be further north of perhaps much further south. We've struck the perfect run about 10 runs too early, there's too much change.
  8. Better 12z, could do with 1 more shift south of around 50-75 miles, make things more comfortable instead of knifedge.
  9. We need another shunt 50-75 miles south to be comfortable for any snow on Friday, I'm not personally expecting anything tonight or for the remainder of the week. There was a few snowy bits in the air early this morning.
  10. Friends just uploaded a pic on Facebook and they are from Walsall and the snow was covered there, looked like a CM odd. Edit - She's back in the US on placement!
  11. End of the week looks like a damp squib away from the far north of England and Central/Eastern Scotland. Bring on April Showers!
  12. Not sure what any fuss is about here, it looks a slightly chilly regular week that's mostly dry with some sun. No snow here this week.
  13. Certainly isn't looking warm by any means. I think a more toned down middle ground will probably be the way forward. Late spring this year though.
  14. Few small flurries in the last hour. Wrong angle to get anything decent here ATM.
  15. Good be some nice looking skies around tommorrow.
  16. Same here, started dull today and has brightened up to feel 'okay' in the sun. Few flakes this morning.
  17. Whiteout, covered all surfaces here, came and gone again. Sugar coating even on main roads.
  18. Think we should enjoy any flakes we see from flurries dying out tonight as they will probably/could potentially be the very last ones of the season.
  19. Whiteout for 5 minutes here, started to stick before it moved through. Be so much better if these came at night.
  20. Few flakes, a small pellet coating on some surfaces.
  21. Flurries here, not going to stick at this speed however.
  22. Yep, they die not long after passing the coastal counties. Mostly dry bar the old flakes/flurries I'd imagine.
  23. Looking like we miss out here, can't begrudge the south coast some fun but anyone that states they'd rather it be there than here that's been pining for it all winter, needs there heading checking!
