  1. It's looking close. Need the heavier PPN to move 50 miles north and stall.
  2. Did think settling snow would be hard to come by tonight. Another worry heading into tommorrow night.
  3. Slush piling up on grass and roofs. Puddles on road and paths. Going to need to blast it down with monumental sized flakes to get everything covered.
  4. Judging by the forecasts they made earlier, they expect this sleety non accumulative stuff to continue for quite a while yet!
  5. Sleety still. Would prefer there to be no wind, makes it much harder to settle. Floor already getting wet.
  6. Well done! Your learning. I'll be on here late enough (England Cricket team playing until 4.30am) so I will happily pop on and express any snow if it comes.
  7. Errr....and that'l be because of what do you think? Because I want it too, so that I'd have been perfectly placed?! You'v been making predictions and saying it will happen and wont happen because the models have hinted at it, not because you magically pulled a superb prediction off. If non of you have sussed that this sheer putrid negativity comes from a little bit of reverse psychology and your all taking the bait.... you'v all lost the plot...
  8. Yeah but it shouldnt have been. It should have been snow tonight through the early hours, on and off tommorrow before more after dark.
  9. Yeah, but that's just a general non specific forecast that isn't updated specifically or frequently. I'm willing to bet I wake up tommorrow with puddles.
  10. Yep - its not the put of having snow or no snow, my local parameters make it very hard for snow to stick an accumulate regardless, never mind with rain for hours before! Previously it was a 95% snow event, with a small period of rain. Know its 50-50 at best.
  11. Think i'll take myself out of this thread for the next few days to save the anguish of seeing foot drfits of snow 20 miles north and rain here.
  12. Yes it did, but WITH RAIN...so snow wont stick? Which makes it pointless.
  13. Yep, frustrating really it'l end up a 'nothing' here. Harder than normal to swallow because 100 miles further south this really could have been something. If I get accumulating snowfall, i'll be amazed.
  14. Very poor forecast from an IMBY perspective this evening, today at 1 is was snow from midnight right the way through to late Saturday, tonight showed rain until the early hours, snow for a few hours, rain and sleet from midday until midnight tommorrow and then snow coming back in after midnight tommorrow. So we've gone from pure snow to, rain, snow, rain, snow. Accumulations are going to be very hard to come by in my specific spot. Can't help but feel a bit negative heading into it. 1-2cm of slush tops I reckon. We needed a 50 mile shunt south, instead we've gone north and are going to pay a marginal price now. Why do these things never fall simple and perfectly? 1-2cm > 35cm. Can guarantee what I end up with.
  15. IF it's snow...and you are slightly further south than myself and Connor...dont get too expectant until it's happening. We've been let down in the past. Staffordshire around 73metres - around 239ft.
  16. Need a shift further south again really, looking potentially rainy/sleet and marginal here for longer than I'd hope. Not too big on any accumulating snow yet IMBY anyway.
  17. What time do you estimate we should see the transition from rain to snow then?
  18. Hmmm, latest news forecast showed rain north of Brum for a good 3-4 hours tonight before anything turned to snow, so I'm still a little skeptical over accumulations here and certainly the depths that are being mentioned around the forum.
  19. Ian F seems to think Brum north for snow, brum south for rain quite literally. Going to be one of those annoying phases I'd imagine, we could use just a 50 mile shunt south.
  20. Sadly that's what we don't want. Lots of heavy snow not sticking because of big puddles!
