  1. Milky skies with hazy sunshine, nothing spectacular and no convection whatsoever. Not optimistic.
  2. In my mind we have 3 chances. Last Night - Bust This Afternoon - Midnight onwards.- Need this cloud to shift ASAP.
  3. Christ 760? Had no idea it was anything like that, heat is a killer!
  4. I like Summer just as much as I do winter, but my point remains. It's far easier to make someone warm up than it is cool down and for those reasons, I want this heat to layoff for a few days. You can do just as much in this weather as you could 22c which is a very pleasant temperature, I'm not sure why any human would physically want it to be 34c+, virtually everything you do becomes an effort, even sitting down in your house at 11pm becomes awful. It doesn't need to be hotter than this and it being hotter than this certainly wouldn't be 'fantastic' for most people in this country, specfically an ageing population which is where my current worry lies. 22-23c, enough for a BBQ, enough to socialise and enough to keep people's spirits up. So the arguement of hotter and hotter weather just stands on no legs as far as I'm concerned.
  5. Quite concerned this evening about the charts and the heat. I'm living with my soon to be 80 year grandmother and she's struggling this week and specifically today very badly. Normally she's a warrior, but shes got a cold at the moment (oh the irony) and her breathing is struggling after 60+ years of smoking 20 a day. Heat is fine, but a few days of rain or something cooler now. Sure people can say 'if this was winter the winter lovers would want -30 instead of -25' but it's a lot harder to cool an immobile physically exhausted elderly person than it is to warm them up.
  6. Nobody could argue with me that this isn't the best part of the day? Sun is still out to keep you comfortable warm in T-shirt and Shorts but is no longer burning hot so it's uncomfortable. Few beers and a bit of food in the garden is fantastic, the hours of sweat are worth this.
  7. 30c+ with a big pool and a holiday atmosphere, happy enough. 30c+ in a boiling hot house struggling to sleep having had 2 weeks+ of hot sticky and unbearable nights AND the worry of an elderly grandparent living in the house - I'll pass.
  8. Blimey Mr Benn, you don't like cold and snow, now it's heat and sun. It's a good job we live in such an average and normally forgiving climate or else you'd be in trouble. 1000 miles north and you'd be stuffed 6 months of the year, 1000 miles south and you'd be exactly the same! Each to their own though. Sunny and hot weather looks all but guaranteed for the next 7 or so days with the likelyhood of keeping warmth and sun for 10-14 seemingly reasonably likely too.
  9. Yep it was horrible last night, the fan was on all night and it was still unbearable. It's nice to have a morning off to cool down so far today, especially with the heat building again Friday.
  10. Been cloudy here for the last few hours. Slept a combined of 8 hours in the last 3 nights due to excessive heat so I think I'll take a lack of sun for the obvious cooler temps we have today. All windows open to get some air in before we go again Friday!
  11. The breeze is beautiful, not sure how it could annoy anyone!
  12. 100% blue skies all the way may be slightly excessive given the Beeb made an effort to purposely mention it might spoil the day in central areas - that being said, I agree with everything else you said,
  13. The model thread winds me up, people nit picking over the GFS temperature charts that have shown a 1 or 2 degree drop between runs. It's going to be warm, it's going to be dry, it's going to be warm enough to have a BBQ and enjoy a beer so what's the issue? Christ. It's almost like saying winter, well actually we are only getting 12.4metres of snow on this run, compared to 12.6 on the 6z. Not only that, you'l be opening a beer in the knowledge we'l be smashing the Aussies around trent bridge! Who could ask for more?
  14. I can't understand why people judge a run by a couple of degrees on a notoriously poor models temperature charts. Seriously, there isn't much difference between 25oc and 27oc, so I'm not sure why people moan about it. Sun is sun, warm weather is warm weather - enjoy it.
  15. I wonder if we are to finally get an 'extreme' spell in summer after a fantastically snowy March in winter. All we'd need then is some massive Storms to go off to end.....Oh, and then a hurricane in Autumn.
  16. Welcome to another fellow cricket fan, can't wait for the Ashes home or away. Here's hoping the weather stays fine, if not too hot so that our lads can wallop the Oz! Cricketing celebrations, beer and sunny evenings with a BBQ, an English persons summer dream, right?
  17. Not sure about anyone else but if the GFS prediction of temps were 32c, that would mean 35/36/37c in big city areas, that's just uncomfortable and horrible in my book. Warm and dry is great, but temperatures above 25c are just too much. As someone always told me, when it's cold its easy to warm up, but when your too hot it takes a lot more effort to become cold. Living with an elderly person as I do, would worry me in consistently 32c weather.
  18. I'm not a fan of 'hot' weather anyway, not unless it leads to a lovely storm that cools things down. 22oc is warm enough to be in the garden, warm enough for a BBQ and warm enough to get a nice bit of tan if your out for long enough.
  19. Been bright here for most of the day, some cloud building in the last hour which gives a nice breeze anyway. Potential for a hot weekend and next week in parts if the models are proven to be correct.
  20. Christ, I thought I was a negative git. Connor and Mark, your both absolute doom mongers!
