  1. I remember some years ago, snow was not forecast here. It was only late evening when the latest hi res models came out it showed that we were in for Snow. It's often now casting in areas where snow is rare. We've had snow forecast and got nothing at all. It's not predictable in Dorset at all
  2. A nice little covering in Poole. I didn't expect that
  3. Dry here at the minute. All I can smell is the pancakes my son has cooked, not Snow yet. Lamp post and radar watch full on!!
  4. They think that here. I take a lot of photo's of wildlife and weather so I'm always popping my head out. It's embarrassing
  5. Well I'm quite excited. It will be radar watch and lamp post watch this evening and tonight. Hopefully we can get that lovely Snowy smell outside and a nice orange sky. Bagsy the first Snowflake
  6. I am keeping the faith. I think we will see some this time. The latest NAE's will hopefully continue with the upgrades, and not down grade us. Good luck everyone
  7. So, yesterday the glass was half full of optimism? Today it's half full of sarcasm? :/ Sheesh!
  8. Nowt wrong with that. I am craving a scene like that myself, as it hardly never Snows here
  9. We live in hope. I for one, am not getting my hopes too high, BUT I think, (for some reason) that we may finally get some Snow. I am not convinced it will last long at the moment, but I think we stand a fair chance in getting something a little more Wintry than we had last week. I feel happy seeing that the main band, as it stands, isn't heading eastwards. Of course we have to wait until tomorrow really, and it will come down to now casting, but better IMBY chance than it was last week.
  10. I guess it depends whether or not your glass is half full or empty? I do hope I am just being cynical for the record, I would dearly love to wrong, I love Snow! A positive or negative attitude doesn't alter what will or will not happen. :/ After a cold, largely dry start across central and southern areas of the UK, a gradual trend to a generally changeable weather pattern looks to take place as we move through to mid February. Rain across northwestern areas (snow on northern hills) will gradually extend southeastwards through this week, but will take some time to reach southern Britain. Here, a frost risk remains well into the week, along with the chance of some wintry showers. Towards the end of this period, most parts of the UK are expected to become generally unsettled, with periods of rain and strong winds, especially in the north and west, but also at times further south and east. Still a risk of night time frosts at times, but not as cold as recently"
  11. I love your enthusiasm, but does this tie in with the latest Met Office outlook? From the Met Office; UK Outlook for Saturday 11 Feb 2012 to Monday 20 Feb 2012: After a cold, largely dry start across central and southern areas of the UK, a gradual trend to a generally changeable weather pattern looks to take place as we move through to mid February. 12. Gutted! I was hoping the NAE may show the PPN Snow band a little further west. Hey ho. It's possible that as it arrives mid afternoon, we might get some light Snow before it turns to Rain. I'm not holding out much hope though. Sorry
  13. Yup pushed east as always. I do dislike the battle grounds. We don't tend to do well out of them. We need an Easterly with channel low really. Like last year
  14. A sickening NAE for sure. Didn't yesterday's 12z have the front further West? There is still time I guess, but I am not getting my hopes up yet!
  15. It's hard having been on the side of missing out at the last minute so many times. Weymouth is a lot like Poole, your area sticks out further in the channel, we are sheltered by the Purbecks and the IOW. So many things point to a marginal event for us this little further West, BUT other factors put us smack bang in the firing line. It could go either way. I am trying to stay positive, but trying to be realistic also. How many times have potential snow-fests turned into a fizzled out dry spell country wide? Who knows what will happen! I will be prepared should it Snow, and not TOO disappointed if it doesn't. Last season, we missed out on one lot of Snow but literally 3 or 4 miles. I walked and witnessed the Snow line, it was weird to say the least!! It won't stop me radar watching and hoping for miracles, no matter what is forecast though. It's certainly been interesting watching the models.
