  1. I've had an inch or two off crapper uppers than those tonight. Go figure. -6 at the 850 level should be sufficient with precipitation of that intensity, even with a strong wind. -6 at the upper level, dews close to freezing and an air temp sub 2C- what falls out of the sky should not turn to liquid so readily. I'm sorry but that is just the UK for you.
  2. You want to see the wet mess outside mine! Anyway, had enough, going bed. Pfffffft. lol
  3. I wouldn't be surprised to hear of 15cm+ in places. That band that has passed through here has been torrential. Had that been all snow, even here would have had a good 10cm (including the snow from earlier in the day which has now melted!).
  4. It's very heavy sleet here now. Huge flakes of snow mixed in with lashing rain. Grim.
  5. Snowing in Stoke too...facebook friend posted a pic Cruel indeed
  6. The sky has that glowing tell tale snow look about it though so I bet the snow line isn't that much further up!
  7. Well it's definitely rain here so you're in good company Mucka. Long suffering aren't we!
  8. Just happened to me here in Crewe funnily enough. Must be the wind as I think it's definitely rain falling outside!
  9. Hey up, it's intensifying just N of me. Might be look out of the window time to see what's falling.
  10. wow temp has jumped up to 1.6 and DP at 0. Really looking marginal now.
  11. Yep, I've witnessed that before but temp was actually a bit lower than that. Again, only in the UK. DP actually fallen here....-0.6
  12. -6/-7 uppers and lashing it down with rain. Only in the sodding UK. As Stephen Prudence said, it can even snow in Greece with uppers of -7 and a wind off the Aegean, yet when it comes to the UK....
  13. Temp has risen from 0.7 to 1.3 in half an hour so it doesn't bode well.
  14. Yep, noticed that. Will be mostly rain to low ground in west of region I reckon. Was torn whether to stay up or not but think I'll go bed.
  15. As I thought it would, the Irish Sea is rapidly adding moisture into the system, hence it appears to be expanding westwards.
  16. I expect it to be rain here. Either way, morning commute looks dicey for some to say the least
  17. I have a feeling rain & sleet for us. Snow line probably 150m for pure snow. Could cop 5-10cm
  18. I'm waiting to see how these features interact with the Irish Sea. Seen it so many times where weak features pass down then pep up as they interact around Liverpool Bay with the intensity spreading E across the band. It's what the GFS wants later on
  19. Yep, winds varying between NNW'y and NW'ly GFS shows a slight NW'ly shift ahead of that band pushing down from the N
  20. Parts of NE Wales being pasted by the looks of it.
  21. Heard from someone that the precipitation in the Irish Sea is heading towards Cheshire and will head down into Shrops across to Staffs before 3am. Will see.
