-
started driving to manchester this morning but was told part way down that nobody had made it in. soft southerners. ah well a day working from home and playing on the xbox
-
whats it like near accrington? heading down from durham and nothing here
-
left snowy consett this morning and now in sunny sheffield. different world man
-
well wasted day at work. snowed off in huddersfield and came off the road on the way back over the moors to harrogate. back to costa del consett now to see what awaits.
-
Anything interesting?
From the north east I can let you know it's absolutely lamping it down here. Just having a noisy at urchin thread coz I'm driving to Manchester at 5am allegedly
-
LOL
Fair enough - I was moaning about people thinking I was moaning... if I'm going to really go for it, I'd start moaning about how you need to translate posts... let me see:
heavy snow = moderate snow
moderate snow = light snow
light snow = snizzle
snizzle = fogged up glasses.
Tbf I just wanted to sound like our lass for a bit. She keeps telling me I'm being miserable, I snap and tell her where to go, which in turn proves her point apparently haha
-
Last time: I'm not moaning; I'm quite happy with everything.. just stating what is happening. Maybe you should look more carefully at my smilies this evening! Fact is we ARE missing out on a very special event. It's a shame. That's just saying how it is. With all due respect, the snow we got 2 yrs ago was immense... but not on the scale of some of the sustained intensity being reported.
Anyway, I'll try to think of a way of describing events where we miss out, stating facts, without it coming over as moaning... want me to post a picture of myself jumping for joy as I state "it's a bit of a shame"? Dearie Lettuceing me!
That sounded like a moan as well

Pretty awesome in Blackhill. Massive snowflakes, and snowing really hard ... We collected our Chinese
I deliver Chinese myself during the week and always curse the people that order when it's snowing. Hypocrit that I am

Really bad with heavy drifting snow will be interesting drive from here to Easington at 7.00 tomorrow!!
I'm off to Manchester to work at 5am...at least that's the plan haha
-
Some other consett peeps post and say how bad it is up here. Jeez..its heavy.
Sure is mick. It's that bad it took nearly 2hrs for me Chinese to get here
-
Yeah, up to 2inch up to now, coming down heavier than ever with atleast another 3 hrs left
How far u from swinton mate? I was at todmorden today and it seemed ok compared to the stuff we got here in Durham last week. We still have to walk on the main roads as theres nearly 2ft of snow on the paths haha. Looks like you lot are getting it worse than us today.
-
Anyone near swinton? Driving down from Durham for work tomorrow
-
Heavy in consett again
-
Whey there's the guttering ripped down!
-
We've got similar problems.
I took this on the way back from the pub - its the path from the Travellers to Knitsley Lane: https://www.dropbox....4a1yd/Trees.JPG
Quality pic that

It that in an area with drifting, or on the level?
Pretty much drift free right at the doorstep. There's some drifting in the corner of the yard about one and a half times the height

Back end of the streamer has just thickened considerably on the latest radar update (out to the east of Lincoln)
-
Moderately heavy snow now. dont want any more
Quitter!! lol
-
Are you having a laugh? You've had enough fun today, let others have theirs
Just a little bit more then I'll be happy...honest
-
Yep - I'm convinced streamers seem to home in on Newcastle area more than here. Looks like a frustrating night here getting some light snow while a few miles north cops it!
Reckon Consett will get some of it or too far south? Not that I should complain if we don't. Share the wealth and all that
-
This band of showers is looking very much like Newcastle's win....reports on the ground??
Something you don't hear often these days
-
Looks like streamer heading straight for region. Could do with it clearing now!! Snow on ground here for two weeks now
nah we need some more man. greedy but so what
