Jesus I wish that wind would pick up. This is slow going. When I overlay the wind vecotrs on the radar which pressure/height should I be using? i.e. What pressure/height is the snow?

Found a good one today:
-
It had better be, lol.
There's a nice big gathering looks like it's heading that way so fingers crossed - for both of us!
-
Ice day here today, max of -0.3º.
Currently -4.3º and I can see cloud to the east. I don't anticipate the temperature will fall much lower.
I work in Newton Aycliffe Paul. Do you think it's in the firing line tonight?
-
i just open the blinds and look out the window lol.
Aye it's OK for you sitting next to the window and having proper streetlights haha.
I like the look of the ppn to the NE of work at the moment.
-
yip it's a classic radar and lampost night tonight lol.
And another night of Kay going off it when I open the door every 5 mins lol.
-
Just been trying to dig the car out for the past 2hrs and have had to abandon it. The ice was solid and it was like trying to chip away at a concrete wall with a toffee hammer.
Took some photos so i can text them to the boss in the morning
-
hope yas got plenty firewood OON.
Davy go on the Hexham webcam,it's gone a bit mad on timelapse and shows the system that rattled through yesterday.
On the Hexham Courant website ya mean? It's showing the current time for me.

I can see the shower clouds just off the coast, but they have been there all day waning back and forth, all to play for in the next few hours.
Looks like the North east will get a pasting. More convection happening 100 mile out some big showers amongst that area.
Wow thats one 'ell of an icicle Davy.. I'd ask the people who live there if i could cut that down and stick it in a freezer, best take it down to ya local butchers only walk-in-freezers could accomodate that monsta'..!!
Aye it's a belter. The freezer in the warehouse at work runs at -27 but I don't know when I'm gonna be able to get there - such a shame lol.
It made me laugh before when I was reading some of the threads covering the South. People on there were reporting icicles up to 4 or 5" long!!!!!
-
Hope ya right. I've enjoyed my day off from work today and would quite happily take another one tomorrow.
-
The icicles are defintely getting bigger. This one on Medomsley Road is half the height of the house
-
looks quite a potent one out to sea.
everything seems to be happening out at sea though. Do u reckon it'll move inland?

The one just to the North of you, this one (postcode is my work at Hownsgill Park)...
Looks very close whether it will hit or not. It could even come down to which side of Consett you are on.
EDIT: Just seen the 21:35 radar image, still looks close, you'll possibly get the edge but miss the main core.
Would be lovely if it did but as you say I think we might just scrape the eastern edge of it. Here's hoping though!
-
There's a lump of heavy stuff that might just hit Consett, if it does I'd say there's another 40-50 minutes of heavy snow in that.
Looks like missing here so after it stops here I'll be looking way out in the North Sea for the next lot.
Which bit are you looking at Mark? Are you talking about the big fella currently to the north of us or can you see something building off the coast?
-
Coming down canny now but I've got a bad feeling this could be the last splash of the night.
-
Not sure about Newton Aycliffe but i would imagine things would be more than easily passable I'm afraid. The roads have a covering from that last shower and added to the slush on them freezing up they're a tad nasty at the moment. That said, the gritters seem to be out clearing at the moment so can't imagine anything too bad tomorrow since further showers seem unlikely.
Tbh I'll not be going in anyway as I can't even get the car out of my street. It's just that it would be more convincing to the boss if it was bad down there as well. Cheers though!
-
Just drove home from work and the place is an ice rink at the moment, tomorrow morning ain't gonna be pretty! Aside from the shower Paul Tall mentioned earlier, we haven't had anything else. By the looks of things, that's our lot for tonight anyway .
Is there much snow down at Darlo Craig? I work in Newton Aycliffe and am hoping I'm having a snow day tomorrow.
-
well at least you answered lol.happy days snow galore here.
Aye it's a whiteout here. Telf's just texted to say the main road at No.1 roundabout is completely covered ad no cars running. Happy days.
Another nice chunk just making its way through Newcastle now as well
The 14" depth I measured on top of the bin before is now up around 15". Not bad going for just over an hour.
-
Jesus, my own brother doesn't know where I live lol.
Also just realised you don't know how to spell my name haha.
-
davey put ya location in mate.otherwise nobody knows where you are talking about lol.
Jesus, my own brother doesn't know where I live lol.

Coming down very nicely here.
-
Some nice stuff just about to hit us in Consett according to the radar.

What's your guesstimate for when it'll hit land travelling at this speed? About 2115 I'm thinking.
I just hope to god that it doesn't burn itself it before it hits Consett haha.
