  1. In an assessment of tonights models...The end of this cold spell is drawing near, but its certainly not going to get mild in the near future and there is a proper scandi high building up, which if given some time to mature, could pull severe cold in from Siberia and then deliver the killer blow to the UK.........

So it might warm up soon or it might not then?.... :p

  2. listen to bro,it's nailed lol.

it's in no rush to move on either.

I can't handle the stress man. I got ready for work this morning, had one go at getting the car and now here I am 15hrs later with my work clothes still on and in serious need of a Specsavers. I've earned this one!!!

edit: My only worry is if we get the gap between the streamer and the stuff to the east.

  3. As promised, the satellicicle, and the back yard 20 mins ago.

We've got a satellicicle as well mate. Nowhere near as big as that one though. Like it.

This was the biggest icicle I've managed to photograph along the road from where I live. Over 2m I reckon. Was gonna send it in to Sky News but I didn't think they'd show it as it wouldn't ave been as impressive as the 4" icicle spotted dahn sarf!

  4. The band only looks about 2 or 3 miles wide but it is so slow moving we could hopefully get half an hour to an hour of snow out of it, maybe another 2cm tops? that has been the story of the snowfall here, a steady accumulation of snow after short showers. The one that fell last night was a beauty but that is about it for 24 hours1

Has it turned more towards you now Paul? You could be in for a treat.

  5. I'm going to straw clutch a little here but there is a skinny band just to the east of Sunderland which has developed and has intensifed slightly. It might Durham/Tyne & Wear, it might not. Something too look out for i suppose.

Its not that i don't have enough snow(i have plenty in the garden and the street) but it is a little frustrating when you see PPN 15 miles away too you, which then misses you, hits another place and when it does look like it will head in your direction, there is very little left on it.

I suppose there is no point of moaning about it but when you get lengthy cold spells like this and you see the end in sight, you really want to make the most of any snow opportunities as possible.

GS your optimism is becoming very offputting :whistling:

  6. Hi just joined! I'm in Brandon near Durham City and we haven't had any snow today so far do you think it will snow later?

Just new myself so probably not the best person to answer. There's some on it's way down now but nobody can so for sure if and when it will hit. There was some this morning which looked like it was going to give Newton Aycliffe a good kicking but it died when it hit the coast.

Have you signed up to the radar? I don't understand much about the weather charts yet but it's exciting following the snow on the radar.
