getting better now, the flakes are getting bigger & and a bit heavier, , but the bad guys are getting harder to hit (xbox) probably coz i,m seeing 2 of them(beer)
Should be twice the size target to hit though so it'll all balance out. Thought I was getting CoD for Xmas but got let down. Gonna have to get it sorted.

In an assessment of tonights models...The end of this cold spell is drawing near, but its certainly not going to get mild in the near future and there is a proper scandi high building up, which if given some time to mature, could pull severe cold in from Siberia and then deliver the killer blow to the UK.........
So it might warm up soon or it might not then?....

I ,switching between snow watching & xbox360 modern warefare 2, supping a can of beer, no work tomorrow, missus asleep, radar looking interesting having a good night
A good night? That's living the dream mate!
If Carlsberg did nights in...

I'm also at DH8 8 and regularly allow peterf to pester my backdoor, I'm sure he leaves his flies un-drawn on purpose
Each to their own Keih. I'll just carry on enjoying the snow if you don't mind
-
What's Consett post code, is it DH8?
Yeh Paul. I'm at DH8 5 and peterf is at DH8 8

WE HAVE SNOW!!!
Very light but it's the starter before the main course.
-
What's that coming over the hill? Is it a snow cloud...is it a snow cloud

Jesus I think that last radar update moved about 2 pixels to the west. It's in no rush like!
-
listen to bro,it's nailed lol.
it's in no rush to move on either.
I can't handle the stress man. I got ready for work this morning, had one go at getting the car and now here I am 15hrs later with my work clothes still on and in serious need of a Specsavers. I've earned this one!!!
edit: My only worry is if we get the gap between the streamer and the stuff to the east.
-
if that misses us i'll show me A/R/S/E/ in FENWICKS window lol.
Haha I wondered if Angela had a pet name for it or summit 'I have a problem'.
Surely our bets are covered though - if the easterly doesn't give us that bank out at sea then we'll get the streamer coming down from the NE?!?!
-
As promised, the satellicicle, and the back yard 20 mins ago.
We've got a satellicicle as well mate. Nowhere near as big as that one though. Like it.
This was the biggest icicle I've managed to photograph along the road from where I live. Over 2m I reckon. Was gonna send it in to Sky News but I didn't think they'd show it as it wouldn't ave been as impressive as the 4" icicle spotted dahn sarf!

Didn't like that last radar update. I was hoping the streamer at Berwick would make landfall just a touch later. I'm thinking that easterly might be gonna blow it to the west of us.
-
I can see the cloud bank from my door. Never mind - soon be here
-
never say never.
I'm just looking at that off Berwick. If the wind stays the same surely that streamer's got Consett written all over it.
-
look north and east chaps lol.
You reckon we're looking OK for the stuff building behind it?
-
Aye I've just texted my mate from down there and he says nowt but the sky is full of it.

The band only looks about 2 or 3 miles wide but it is so slow moving we could hopefully get half an hour to an hour of snow out of it, maybe another 2cm tops? that has been the story of the snowfall here, a steady accumulation of snow after short showers. The one that fell last night was a beauty but that is about it for 24 hours1
Has it turned more towards you now Paul? You could be in for a treat.
-
Not as annoyingly close as it is to me!
Aye just notice that Paul when I checked my work postcode. I think we might get the next batch if it reaches us.
-
That strip to the east of me is annoyingly close.

I'm going to straw clutch a little here but there is a skinny band just to the east of Sunderland which has developed and has intensifed slightly. It might Durham/Tyne & Wear, it might not. Something too look out for i suppose.
Its not that i don't have enough snow(i have plenty in the garden and the street) but it is a little frustrating when you see PPN 15 miles away too you, which then misses you, hits another place and when it does look like it will head in your direction, there is very little left on it.
I suppose there is no point of moaning about it but when you get lengthy cold spells like this and you see the end in sight, you really want to make the most of any snow opportunities as possible.
GS your optimism is becoming very offputting

Just got some cans of cider out of the boot of the car. Refreshingly slushy straight out of Mother Nature's fridge

Hi just joined! I'm in Brandon near Durham City and we haven't had any snow today so far do you think it will snow later?
Just new myself so probably not the best person to answer. There's some on it's way down now but nobody can so for sure if and when it will hit. There was some this morning which looked like it was going to give Newton Aycliffe a good kicking but it died when it hit the coast.
Have you signed up to the radar? I don't understand much about the weather charts yet but it's exciting following the snow on the radar.
-
Haha. Sky News on location reporter has done an experiment today. She put water in a plastic bottle and a few hours later it started to freeze. It will do pet if it's below freezing!
-
9pm or 10pm splitting hairs lol
Must admit I'm getting more confident now looking at that radar.

Well this has been nice so far but I'm looking at that heavier stuff coming now.
