  1. You can if its a modern one. I'm currently experiencing modern snow AKA cold rain
  2. In work at the moment. Heavy snow here in Newport
  3. Freezing cold and rain. We can't be happy with that. You've got to think how much a few fraction of degrees increase in temperature has ruined our chances of snow over recent years. When I see 2 or 3 degrees and its p1ssing down I'm thinking if this was the 50's, 60's or 70's would it be snowing! So frustrating.
  4. This week may not deliver much in terms of snow but at least we've been blessed with some stunning winter sun. If i can't have snow I'll take crips dry sunny days quite happily
  5. Tend to agree. I think this again will be a chilly phase rather that a proper cold one with proper deep snow. Hope we're both wrong though
  6. Covering here at 5am but then precip turned to sleet/rain. Washed most of it away. Mountain says 300-400m had a good covering. Another miss here! Never mind.love seeing the pics.
  7. Miss him on the weather. Haven't seen him for ages. His enthusiasm is great. Great bit of banter with Jamie Owen too. I remember he had a bit of stick a few years ago for his snow (or lack of it) forecast. It could have been as long ago as Jan 1996?? (was he doing the weather then?). Had a proper dumping in the end. He was up Caerphilly mounting reporting snow depth. Just proves how difficult forecasting snow was and still is.
  8. That explains it. West facing house. Nightmare in west/south westerlys. Let's hope we're talking about diferent weather events pretty soon!
  9. National hero. Let's hope we see him with his ruler ready for action measuring snow depth next week.
  10. It was not forecast to be this bad was it? Can't here the TV. Thought it was just a squall but it's still going strong.
  11. Jusy gone absolutely crazy out there. Terrential rain and serious winds. Sounds worse than last night. Now quiet as a mouse
  12. Can you add it in you profile,. Its great to have a location when reporting weather observations. I know what coming my way in 20 minutes then. Cheers!
  13. Same Here. around 01:15 this morning. Woke the ruddy baby up too. Other than that nothing to much
  14. Well. Some excitement in the model thread. The all important word "concensus" is making appearance. I think I'll hold back on informing family and freinds to get their ski gear out. But looking exciting for next week and beyond. Would be great to here some thoughts from the more experienced amongst you on the potential
  15. A few cm's here too. Iced over so very slippery out there. A lovely scene it has to be said. It's been a while and has certainly been missed.
  16. 3 big flashes in the sky to the west. No snow yet.
  17. Have to say I'm proper confused now. The latest local & national BBC forecast looked like a significant downgrade for the south (including South Wales). The main thrust being felt over Norhern Ireland & South West Scotland with isobars looking not too bothersome away from these areas.
  18. Plenty of wind though We all deserve a bit of snow this year so fingers crossed! Still plenty of time
  19. 1st snow forecast for me for quite some time. 3am Wednesday Morning
  20. Winds picked up briefly here about 20 minutes ago accompanied by a very heavy shower. More of a North Westerly direction. I presume that was the cold front passing here. Should be with you about now.
  21. Had a big dip in the lights around the same time here. Might be related
  22. Horrible out there. The noise is terrible. West facing bifold doors don't help. Reminiscent of last winter I have to say. We had the tiles storm batterned after losing several last year on 3 seperate occasions. Its a good test this evening that's for sure.
  23. Stunning late autumn evening here. The big orange blob in the sky has just fallen behind the mountain leaving a lovely pink glow amongst the light mist. As I write this there is a Robin bouncing along the patio making the most of the fading light. Almost feels like Christmas And wales just won! Perfect evening!
  24. Fantastic stuff. Some nifty camera work there too. You also had a pasting in March that year didn't you. After being so lucky in 09/10 I remember feeling equally unlucky in 10/11 where there were huge falls just to our west. Literally 5 miles away had a few feet while we had to settle for a few inches. I also remember the reports in North Wales Jan 2013. Always great to see though.
