  1. Thanks Blue. I dont pretend to be even an amature with forecasting and have no idea on the Complexities that go into making a forecast right or wrong. But I do see on these threads that folk are happy to forecast way into New year with others saying thats way in FI....just wondered, thanks for the answer.
  2. Hi all, can someone please tell me, that you guys keep saying things about FI and how things change quickly when its a cold shot in the offing, but when there is mild you are quite happy to forecast things for this and that side of new year? confused.com
  3. Ahh good old Rob McElwee, not sure if this will post but here goes.... And then, Theres Monday - Cue Eyebrow raising.....LOL - Happy times....
  4. I have to say AWT, its so nice to see some light in here after all of the "nothing on the cards for this winter so lets pack up and go home" attitude. Surely winter is only just begining and so anything can happen. Models change, jets move and things do happen that we cant currently see.....As others have said, the key to this season will be patience.....
  5. ok, so, my wife calls me and tells me she got pulled for driving while on the phone. Im no expert, but im sure this mild weather is to blame...No scientific explanation, just a gut feeling :-) Seriously, she did get nicked....Grrr, but serves her right...money saved on heating, wasted on higher insurance..
  6. Well, heating went on last night, but only for an hour or so to boost the kids rooms (gets cold in there). Ahh poor utility companies, my heart really bleeds...unlike my radiators lol
  7. lol, its all doom and gloom over there too with everyone looking at every single model output each day. I dont see the point, maybe look every 3/5 days and look for trends, its the only way to: A: stop myself from going nuts with all of the ups and downs and FI dreams B: Build up a realistic picture of where the Euro will end and more interesting developments unfold. I hate it being this mild, this late in the year when for the past years we have been more used to a better setup etc, but like i said, its still 2 weeks away. Models change and trends become clearer. Relax, no point in letting this mild mush upset you....
  8. How can we have a frustration at winter thread. Did I miss something, I thought it was still Autumn? Yea im frustrated at the Euro high....maybe you should have called it that.... At least we should be looking at getting down to single digit maxima's, which is a little more seasonal. But just to vent at the Euro high... ARRRGHHHHHHHHH!!! Im Morethan Freeman. Thank you. For listening
  9. Hehe, yea ok, fair enough. Well secretly im hoping that too....shhh dont tell anyone.
  10. Hello lovely people. Can someone tell me why (specifically on the mod thread), that when the models show cold in FI, everyone says "oh they wont verify", but when its showing mild muck, they all buy into it, hook, line and sinker?? Its just a little bug bear of mine. The models seems to be showing some crumbs of promise in FI, but everyone shuts it down and gets on the " this mild air looks set to stay past Christmas". Why believe the models that far out for mild, but not for cold? Just curious.
  11. I'll take that over the mild anyday. At least its a little more seasonal
  12. Come on guys, its November, not January. Im at a loss how everyone can write off the whole winter due to the current muck. Models can change and swing round quickly. I know its frustrating and I share it too, but its still way to early to write it all off and say "oh well thats winter 2011/12 done", its not over until mother nature sings and shes no where near to singing just yet. Chin up all.....
  13. We are still talking about a massive way out then eh....
  14. my god thats a lot of CAPS!!. recent runs looking a little more interesting.....
  15. Looking better in the recent runs. Not great, but better than the mild muck we have been getting.....
  16. So once again, it could be cooler or it could stay milder. Models chop and change so much so it looks like its nowcast time eh..... Personally, I hope we can finally shift this awful mild, damp muck and move to something a little more seasonal. Still got November and December, which is where winter really starts....
  17. So its going to be mild but also cant rule out cold...... Basically the same as everyone else then. We all know snow isnt the easiest thing to predict, but it does make good reading....Only time will tell
  18. Put the heating on last night...NOOOOOOOO But loving the colder weather. Bring on the winter baby yeah
  19. Hello all. Happy Friday to one and all. Can someone please tell me if we are expecting anything in my neck of the woods? I havent been able to access all day and have just come back on line.
  20. Cant be much more coming? I dont have access to an up to date radar so cant really tell
  21. Yea we had a load of thunder but too much low cloud cover to see any forks and not too many flashes either, but lots of rain and noise, and a storm is a storm....better than the sticky heat of the last few days.....hows about you?
  22. Scary stuff.....but then thats the train networks for ya
