  1. From WSI Anomalies greater than 25C at 10mb by New Years Day, but the core of the stratospheric vortex is still intact.
  2. Current conditions Sky conditions: overcast. Temperature: 12.0 Celsius. Dewpoint: 11.0 Celsius. Relative Humidity: 94% Windchill Factor: 9. Winds: Southwest at 28 km/h or 15 knots. Mean Sea level Pressure: 101.70 kilopascals. Horizontal visibility: 6.21 statute miles or 9.94 kilometers. Height of the Ceiling: 396 metres ( 1300 feet ). Low of 11c overnight
  3. From WSI ECM showing significant warming in the stratosphere. Not quite a split of the vortex though.
  4. 19 of the 20 GFS ensemble members show LP affecting the UK on the 27th. out of the 20 members 12 Also show the LP to be deep and affect the East Coast the severest.
  5. Well that's your classic meaty sausage and 2 balls set up lol. Or hands up who drew genitals on the blackboard?
  6. From WSI Temperatures falling end of next week but ensemble differences. Preference to cooler ECMWF ensemble. Latest ECMWF weekly has lower pressure N Europe with a return to normal/above temperatures N/mainland Europe week 4

  8. The latest Weather Network UK white xmas update.
  9. Consistent as in run to run the charts haven't chopped and changed to much.
  10. I am not using it to get a snowfest. I am using it because it is the GFS upgraded version. Whether it turns out to be on the money or not it certainly has been the most consistent of the models in the past few days that is for sure.
  11. Why use the old GFS when the GFS P is the upgraded version soon to become live?
  12. I must be living in some parallel universe when i see panicking negative comments about the latest GFS run. I mean seriously wtf is wrong with this below chart!!!! lol, Cos it sure as hell looks ok to me.
  13. I don't think that any one can see anything good or bad at the moment as any potential pattern change isn't meant to start evolving until xmas eve at the earliest which is still at T144 on the models, and as is widely known anything beyond T96 is subject to change.
  14. I was under the impression that the NAO, B & Q, DFS etc follow the op's anyway, so in effect they are only as goods as the ops make them? Which would figure as it is only the last few days (after the NAO chart you show) that the actual op runs have started to show a -NAO
  15. One op line will be for the old GFS and the other for the GFS P most probably. The GFS ensembles are presented more clearly on Meteociel IMO.
  16. From WSI UK colder into Xmas - staying cold for end of year at least. Snow showers in N. Feels like nearer 0C wind chill.
  17. Current conditions Sky conditions: partly cloudy. Temperature: 13.0 Celsius. Dewpoint: 10.0 Celsius. Relative Humidity: 82% Windchill Factor: 11. Winds: Southwest at 24 km/h or 13 knots. Mean Sea level Pressure: 101.00 kilopascals. Horizontal visibility: 6.21 statute miles or 9.94 kilometers. Low of 12c overnight Height of the Ceiling: 396 metres ( 1300 feet ).
  18. Latest white xmas forecast from Weather Network UK. No change from yesterdays update.
  19. Don't stress about a uninspiring ecm 216hr chart peeps. We are talking 9 days away after all and as you get told thousands of times don't get elated or depressed with each run. The trend of building heights towards greenland is there again on the ecm tonight just like it is on the earlier gfs and that is all that matters at the moment. Rome wasn't built in a day.
  20. It's all very confusing with people now posting both the old GFS version and new GFS P. The GFS P is now meant to be the better version so maybe it's better to stop using the old GFS to avoid potential disappointments LOL
  21. The GFS 12Z still trying to get heights into Greenland, not much has changed since the 06z. It's all good IMO because all we want to see at this stage is heights building in Greenland which is exactly what is being played out on the latest GFS run (and the last few previous runs) and to a certain extent the last ECM run. The detail doesn't matter at this stage, it's all about getting the greens and yellows into Greenland.
  22. Current conditions Sky conditions: partly cloudy. Temperature: 12.0 Celsius. Dewpoint: 10.0 Celsius. Relative Humidity: 88% Winds: Southwest at 9 km/h or 5 knots. Mean Sea level Pressure: 100.70 kilopascals. Horizontal visibility: 6.21 statute miles or 9.94 kilometers. Height of the Ceiling: 3048 metres ( 10000 feet ). Topped out at a very mild 13c today.
