  1. combine this with all the wind generated from all the sprouts being eaten and it's gonna get messy.
  2. I'll take another little ice age please. Thanks for the info, maybe after the 10,000th time of saying we will be locked in for months on end they maybe right and will be able to say told you so hehe
  3. I did notice this myself but didn't want to rock the boat so to speak lol.
  4. Has there ever been in the climate history of the UK a weather pattern that has been locked in for months on end like some posts always suggest is going to happen?, is it even possible? the answer to the latter is almost probably no. As we all know the weather and climate is very fluid and dynamic so for posts to mention locked in scenarios for months and months is imo way way pie in the sky.
  5. I am truely very pleased for Glasgow, but thank god it seems pretty localised then and the majority of us dont have to put up with these very mild temps
  6. I'm still waiting for this much talked about mild weather to reach me in this neck of the woods. It must be mild everywhere but here.
  7. A mega freeze it isn't and it's not even that cold but any weather is better than this current no weather. It's obviously a long way off but it does crack me up when people start posting about being under a bartie high for at least the next 3 weeks and this pattern looks locked in for months etc only for the models to start showing some signs of change only a few days later. It amazes me what goes on in some peoples head sometimes lol.
  8. Fair enough, thought it might become a bit more unsettled looking at the models this morning. Still IMO unsettled is much better than the benign stuff currently.
  9. In these kind of situations local radio is the best place to tune into. Channels like news 24 and sky news Will never report on the minutest of detail in every town, village, hamlet. One of the must haves in a survival kit is a battery powered radio.
  10. It could be because it wasn't as bad as predicted and there is only a certain amount of times the same old info can be repeated. Bit like the mandela news the same reports will now be endlessly repeated over the coming days.
  11. Looking at the media reports this morning it looks like the predicted major flooding never materialized and defences held out. For instance 9000 homes in great yarmouth were evacuated but only around 2 dozen were actually flooded.
  12. So do I, but how many times over the years have we seen meteo updates change for the worse!!! Exactly lots. Just saying!!!!
  13. Guy's guys guys just cos the meto are currently thinking it will turn much colder from mid month doesn't mean to say 1 it will happen and 2 they won't change there minds come this time next week. Its very exciting of course to hear potential cold and snowy updates but don't pin all your hopes on mid-month as if it doesn't materialise there will be a lot of very un-happy bunnies. Just relax and enjoy each day as it comes otherwise you end up wishing your life away. Mid-term the weather looks as dull as dishwater with HP South of the UK.
  14. Friday is still progged to be very cold. A bit milder in the West but it will feel ruddy freezing in the East, especially on the coasts exposed to the strong winds. Saturday currently looks cold too but not as cold as Friday.
  15. 1 very cold day on Friday. Then it is bye bye very cold and hello average again. Some you win some you Lose. Does look like further on we are gonna see HP to the South East of the UK for a bit. Would rather a Greenland high than a scandi high as theses are notorioulsy difficult to get in the right place to bring us deep cold.
  16. ECM is a lot better in the mid~term than UKMO. Perhaps there will be a mixture of the 2 in the end. Or there again we are talking 5 days away and anything can still happen. I think mild swerleys would be the outsider though.
  17. Oh no the hangman will be busy. Wait for the ECM before knicker twisting. The UKMO could quite easily be a rouge run. Even if it isn't no-one would have died and it will still be cold come the end of the week.
  18. Bit confused with the depression on here this morning. There was never meant to be a sustained severe cold spell next week, so why be depressed with something that is never meant to happen. UKMO and ECM still looking good for much colder weather to arrive by the end of the week.
  19. Don't know why people get wound up over the miseries in the mod thread, just put them on ignore and you don't have to read there drivel. Makes for a happy and contented life
  20. Some very cold days and nights coming up at the end of the week (end of high res), will feel much colder in the strong winds.
  21. And now for the decent model......... UKMO looking good for cold air moving down the UK at T144
  22. There are simarlarites between me and George Clooney......... In that we are both male Never been one for comparisons of winters gone by. Not saying your wrong though.
