Has there ever been in the climate history of the UK a weather pattern that has been locked in for months on end like some posts always suggest is going to happen?, is it even possible? the answer to the latter is almost probably no. As we all know the weather and climate is very fluid and dynamic so for posts to mention locked in scenarios for months and months is imo way way pie in the sky.

A mega freeze it isn't and it's not even that cold but any weather is better than this current no weather. It's obviously a long way off but it does crack me up when people start posting about being under a bartie high for at least the next 3 weeks and this pattern looks locked in for months etc only for the models to start showing some signs of change only a few days later. It amazes me what goes on in some peoples head sometimes lol.

Guy's guys guys just cos the meto are currently thinking it will turn much colder from mid month doesn't mean to say 1 it will happen and 2 they won't change there minds come this time next week. Its very exciting of course to hear potential cold and snowy updates but don't pin all your hopes on mid-month as if it doesn't materialise there will be a lot of very un-happy bunnies. Just relax and enjoy each day as it comes otherwise you end up wishing your life away. Mid-term the weather looks as dull as dishwater with HP South of the UK. -

Friday is still progged to be very cold. A bit milder in the West but it will feel ruddy freezing in the East, especially on the coasts exposed to the strong winds. Saturday currently looks cold too but not as cold as Friday. -

1 very cold day on Friday. Then it is bye bye very cold and hello average again. Some you win some you Lose. Does look like further on we are gonna see HP to the South East of the UK for a bit. Would rather a Greenland high than a scandi high as theses are notorioulsy difficult to get in the right place to bring us deep cold. -

ECM is a lot better in the mid~term than UKMO. Perhaps there will be a mixture of the 2 in the end. Or there again we are talking 5 days away and anything can still happen. I think mild swerleys would be the outsider though. -

Oh no the hangman will be busy. Wait for the ECM before knicker twisting. The UKMO could quite easily be a rouge run. Even if it isn't no-one would have died and it will still be cold come the end of the week. -
