Early winter hopes and chat
No Balls Like Snow Balls replied to Paul's topic in Spring Weather Discussion
Got the below from the UK Weather Forecast website. UK Weather Forecast Uncertainties for now regarding winter. There are early signs, which is what some of our early winter thoughts are based on, which point towards a colder and potentially drier winter, but it is too early to say with any degree of confidence. What you could say though is that given how mild and unsettled last winter was, odds on this winter being like that again are slim, so in theory a colder weather would be possible in comparison to last year. -

Big difference in temp for 3pm Friday and 3pm Saturday. SE just about managing to hold onto some warmth. -

After the initial cool down over the weekend it does look like temps could recover a little from mid next week (in the South anyway) still remaining unsettled though. Very chilly for parts of the North early next week. All areas seeing some rain for the 48 hours from Fri 12z to Sun 12z, although the SE not seeing much at all. Worst of the rain in the NW. Becoming wet again on Monday. -

There looks like a good possibility that LP will start to take over our weather at the end of this week. To have 2 weeks of relatively dry and warm weather in the UK though is a blessing and not to be sniffed at. I am ready for some rain and wind again now though :-) -

Lovely rest of the week coming up weather wise for most. Looks like a cool down happening over the weekend, but will still remain warm. UKMO going for only a temporary cool down before warming again, but ECM keeps it cooler for much longer. Either way it's still going to be settled for the foreseeable. -

Current outlook looks unsettled for the foreseeable almost nationwide. Looks like its gonna get warm and muggy for the weekend but not dry. Certainly no sign of any sustained dry heatwave style weather happening anytime soon. Very much a continuation of showers or longer spells of rain, with short drier interludes in between. -

Model output discussion 13th Feb onwards
No Balls Like Snow Balls replied to Paul's topic in Forecast Model Discussion
This is the same CFS that was saying we were gonna have a amazingly cold FEB. -
Aye would like to know about the storm being predicted for Friday and the current unsettled pattern rather than the hunt for "no cold". The servere weather thread has been busier than the mod thread lately. Says it all. The current unsettled weather continues on the models i have seen this morning. Perhaps not as extreme as this week though.
