  1. Ian F gave a update earlier a few pages back. Here it is:- Addition to my earlier post: in summary, UKMO note very little support "as yet" for the deepening frontal depression in 00z EC DET (= circa 10% ENS) and ditto for severe wx seen in GFS-P. However, developments remain under close scrutiny, obviously, given "...natural interest in festive period wx".
  2. That's not really a proper high in Scandi anyway. It's only surface pressure. You need greens and yellows for it to start being a proper high pressure cell.
  3. From WSI Models are trending in favor for a significant Eurasia stratospheric warming event during the next 2 weeks.
  4. From WSI re last nights rain. High precipitation totals for Wales overnight, 32mm for Capil Curig. Drier across the east with around 5 to 10 mm.
  5. I think the chances have increased slightly from the last update they did on the 15th.
  6. Latest chances of a white Xmas from Weather Network UK.

  9. Good run again from the GFS 12Z FI (following on from a good GFS 06Z in FI) in regards to wanting to build heights around Greenland. -12c 850's trying to make it into Scotland
  10. I am pretty sure Ian did say the other day not to use the mean charts as they are skewed by the historical climatological averages.
  11. From Weather Network UK Temperatures to fluctuate widely over the next few days. Highs of 15C are possible by Thursday.
  12. Albeit run at a lower resolution than the ECM DET the below ECMWF 500MB EPS control for the 8-15 day period shows a Positive anomaly over Greenland and a negative anomaly over Scandinavia. Make of that what you will :-)
  13. From WSI Turning colder Christmas Eve & Christmas Day! Wintry showers in the north but questionable in the south!?!
