I think the BBC get there info from the METO - so it's no surprise BBC coming up with same as METO, the METO is the hand stuck up the puppets (BBC) bum so to speak lol

Mild !! lol hardly call a top temp of 11c max mild.
Started off pleasant this morning with sunny spells and did feel warmer with the sun on back. This afternoon however has clouded over and feels very chilly with a noticeable breeze kicking in.
I sweated up like a race horse in my jacket earlier lol

Today = rubbish
Nuff said......
To mild for my liking, single figures would do me

Maxed @ 11.6c today

Went out to lunch and lovely blue skies, just over an hour later it's clouded over and looks like rain

Just what I was thinking. I thought we would have heard by now?
Word on the street is that it is very bad news, 3 months of barty high apparently , the samaritans are just being briefed before being made available to the general public.

Already in my mind and very initial planning Steve. I'm thinking Brighton in the Summer, as the first ever SE meet was there and was a corker in the sunshine! Alternate location would be Croydon maybe, just because of transport links, being central and having accommodation close by. Feel free to throw a few ideas around but I'm thinking a bank holiday weekend or sometime when most people are free. I'll get the first round in.....
as long as it is tap water!!!!
What kind of licence did it have then?
Croydon!! no offence meant to anyone that lives in Croydon but jeez what a turd hole lol

Low of 8.2c overnight, a lot milder than recent nights.

Maxed at 9.6c today, felt chilly still when i went out the office to lunch

If the Met carry on saying it will be well below then thats who I will believe. They predicted the cold temperatures at the end of November/start of December 2010 by the 5th Novmber.
Too right, they are the pro's after all, they have a massive budget and super computers so I always look to them to show me the way LOL, of course though even they cannot be right 100% of the time

My expectations for winter is for carnage in the model thread when the UKMO/ECM and GFS show -10c 850 air moving across the UK from the NE, i predict mass hysteria, tears, tantrums, suicides and maybe even the odd pregnancy from overjoyed husbands etc celebrating the impending deep freeze with there partners a bit to vigorously :-)

Why is everyone like "oh well the strat's done for, might as well wait till next year" when its november 7th! Come on guys, the strat isn't the ultimate deciding factor to our weather, yes it helps if a warming event takes place but we still have other factors in our favour
Rant over
Cos some people get a kick out of winding people up - which is a bit weird if you ask me, I imagine them sitting at home all alone in there soiled y fronts looking for some attention, that's the impression I get anyway lol

Not a good update from chio in the strat thread. He is going agaisnt the met outlook and stewarts outlook aswell. This is a worrying signal. He has more or less said it isnt good for cold fans. Oh dear. Never mind guess at least the energy companys who hiked up the prices can take a running jump. Hope for something abit colder come j/f time but im not holding my breath. It was looking promising a few weeks ago now not so much. Stupid strat. But we were warned a few weeks ago i seem to remember that this could be our nemasis to our winter.
LOL Oh how I laugh :-)

Thank you Stuart for posting... I see that they are sticking (as expected) with the possibility of temperatures 'well below the seasonal average...)
They would look a right load of muppets changing it only 24 hours after updating it

At the moment im not convinced we will see much in the way of cold weather late Nov/early Dec and we may have to wait until late Dec/early Jan. What we have to take into account is historically Decembers like 1981,2009,2010 are actually quiet rare and many of the notoriously cold winters began after xmas.
Making a forecast at the moment appears difficult. On the one hand it appears certain variables favour below average temps but will the Stratosphere override these variables.
Well I am happy that the meto gave a good update yesterday, but then again they are not always right and how many times have we seen a good update one minute turn into a bad one the next.
-
Still no sign of anything majorly cold in the model outputs, a continuing theme rain - drier interludes - rain - drier interludes lol,
at least it won't be to mild though :-). 3 weeks until the start of winter proper. I hope the more weather educated are right about there prediction of a cold end to Nov and start to Dec, wish it would start showing in the models ggggrrrrrr lol

Low of -0.5c overnight, had to scrape the car windscreen again this morning, I was surprised.

Maxed out here at 9.7c today, currently cloudy with light rain

i'm fed up with you being so sure about yourself!
LOL, jeez relax your give yourself a hernia lol

Does anyone know what data the Met Office are using to support the "well below average" prediction?
They come on net weather and look at the model thread then decide from there

The met office 16-30 day outlook says to me the beast from the east with day time temps struggling to get above -5c and heavy snow widespread :-)
