  1. Lovely here so far, nudging 21c with warm sunshine this morning's washing almost dry
  2. For me early june was blighted here by a virtually daily cold breeze followed by the peak summer month July being a total write-off for doing summery stuff, a pretty average aug and warm September doesn't make up for peak summer activities being adversely affected
  3. After reaching 30c followed by lot's of rumbles and a couple of very bright flashes we are now getting the biblical downpour as storms go pretty tame but about as good as it gets this year here
  4. Been a hot day so far but the blue sky and sun is rapidly being displaced by the thundery stuff (rumbles getting louder and regular now)
  5. Closing in on 26c already, humidity really draining and it's only 10am
  6. This fig tree tells me all I need to know about how poor this summer has been, normally by this stage of august the figs are large and trying to ripen this year barely the size of gooseberrys
  7. Rubbish summer here carrying on from a cool north sea dominated spring, June was pretty cool until the last third, July one of the worst in my lifetime August tried to make amends but the damage has been done, low max temperatures, cool nights wet July, so got to mark this one 3 out of 10 hopefully September will deliver as it often does in the east
  8. As seems to be a normal pattern here in East Peterborough edge of the fens main thundery stuff to the north and some to the south but overhead blue sky
  9. It's taken until August but the evening's are now warm enough to be outside until dusk in t-shirt and shorts at least in this area I'm making the most of it hitting the Peterborough beer festival
  10. Was expecting a warm up this week but looking at the netweather forcast I'll be digging out the arctic wear and what a temperature range on Friday
  11. Temporarily the warmest it's been for sometime with blue sky here in the eye of the low
  12. We got about 2 1/2 weeks here thanks to the north sea, spring was cold and summer has been an occasional warm dry day
  13. As near as it's going to get to summer here this July I fear almost 24c sporadic sunshine, light wind, hoards of flying ants and a warm evening, would have been pretty average normally but fantastic this year
  14. Not in the SE, with a breeze 25c doesn't feel hot, on a still day sitting in the sun it's probably top end of warm
  15. Dispite all the modeling gloom not a bad weekend here eastern side of Peterborough touching high twenties yesterday touching mid twenties today very little rainfall all in all as good as it gets in a normal English summer
  16. Hearing my first rumbles just south of east Peterborough
  17. Seems the warm airmass is making inroads here this afternoon rather warm when the sun pops out
  18. Rather warm and pleasant now the cloud and rain has gone past
  19. Dispute 10c temperature drop and stiff breeze I'm still finding it rather humid here edge of the fens east of Peterborough
  20. More sun than cloud here 10 c drop on yesterday but more than warm enough
  21. Starting to look interesting just east of Peterborough
  22. Pretty much the same here, very strong breeze but thankfully heated rather than chilled
  23. After weeks stuck in the NE position the weather vane has finally headed south nudging towards 30c now
  24. Looking good here on the edge of the fens cloudless sky and rapidly approaching my max this year 20.5c and it's not even 9 o'clock
