  1. Not far off 50mm of rain today, a thoroughly wet day. Quickly made up for that short dry spell! Now blowing a hoolie.
  2. Dropped to -5.7*C, thought it would have gone lower as it was -5*C when I went to bed. This winter will be remembered as the winter of light dustings, bored of it now, kind of wishing for an early spring.
  3. Only had a sprinkle of snow this morning but grass still has snow on it from Wednesday. A still foggy day, just missed out on an ice day, max of 0.3*C
  4. Noticed that had appeared this season. I assume it means fog?
  5. Easing off a bit now but probably got just shy of two inches
  6. Has been snowing steadily for a few hours now but only just now starting to give all surfaces a good cover. Love how the world goes from green to white in what seems like a few minutes!
  7. Well today has saved this cold spell. Woke this morning to two inches on the ground, light snow on a stiff northerly all day has left another 1/2 inch. Another bitter mid winters day. Shame all this snow will be gone in a couple of days after such a long cold spell of dustings.
  8. Sounds good, still snowing lightly here. Time to take my 20 month old daughter out for her first taste of sledging!
  9. Strange, radar showing all pink across Cumbria? Hard to tell yet as it's still quite dark but probably have two or so inches here.
  10. You've done well, only managed to squeeze a cm out of today down here and like you it's snowed pretty much all day. Felt like deep mid winter though, temp barely above freezing, light snow and foggy. A real bone chilling kind of day.
  11. Hit -5C in the wee hours. Now snowing very lightly, expecting the usual light dusting as is typical from this cold spell. This has nothing on the BFTE here, can't get much better than gale force winds, deep drifts and ice days. Let's hope the SSW brings its return.
  12. Yet another thin covering. This is getting tedious, I'd rather all my snow in one go please
  13. Snow turning heavy now, landing on frozen ground, temp -1C. Perfect conditions!
  14. Noticed the temperature had risen from zero to one, peeped outside and it is snowing lightly. Not expecting much mind
  15. Temperature dropping like a stone here, currently - 3.6C Thick frost has persisted in the shade today but snow confined to the highest fells unfortunately.
  16. Absolutely chucking it down, if only it would turn to snow. Pretty windy now too
  17. Sleet now turned to steady snow, not sticking though. Snowline looks to be around 300m

  19. http://www.cumbria.gov.uk//Images/Cumbria_tcm31-415049.ico Kirkstone Pass A592 weather station | Cumbria County Council WWW.CUMBRIA.GOV.UK Slushy covering on Kirkstone pass so sounds about right.
  20. Major flash flood from that south Cumbria storm. Trying to head home now stuck waiting for this to go down! Will have to abandon the van and go on foot as farmer says there is 12 ft of wall in the road where the beck has burst though. Hate to think what it's like further north as I was only on the edge of this. MOV_0461_854x480.mp4

  22. That storm just caught the edge of me, constant thunder and large hail. Hope no-one is out walking the fells
  23. Large hail now. I'm only on the edge of this storm must be mental a few miles north!
  24. Kicking off here. Storm is just to my north but now getting refreshing rain and a breeze. Constant thunder
