Heavy snow here settling everywhere, slowing up now though
-
Snow shower here just Now, although the sun has just come out lol
-
Started snowing here now, quite light at the moment
-
Had another covering here over night was nice to see but pretty much melted now, the proper cold should be in place by the end of the day so any showers shouldn't suffer as much, really hope everyone thats missed out so far gets at least a covering by the end of winter :-)
-
Snowing again here, no marginalty today as far as I know, hope this is all a taster before the fun and games next week
-
Still snowing here, looks like lots of dark clouds still about, any idea when this is due to clear?
-
Still going strong here so much for the forecasts, just shows that nowcasting is the way forward :-)
-
Steady moderate snow here, flakes getting bigger and topping up the dusting we had, my almost 2 year old little boy is mesmerized, hope we get a good fall before winters end so he can play in it :-)
-
Ian F's comments in the SW thread make grim reading, and as the meto have been pretty spot on this winter it doesn't bode well, not being downbeat, just realistic, hoping for a suprise or two though

Light snow falling here too now
-
So snow in east sussex is a good sign
Dewpoints & temps dropping i guess -
Need the PPN here now!!
Yeah, considering I wasn't expecting anything at all this evening
-
Yay! just started snowing here, that's the 4th snow shower since Saturday, before that the only soft fluffy white thing I had seen for almost 2 years was cotton wool!
Even if this is all the snow I get for the winter its still better than last year

Snowing lightly here :-)

Every reason to think that many locations north, south, east and west will see snowfall and lying snow
next week, exactly where and how much is obviously a big unknown at this stage but the threat is
most definitely there.
The runs to me anyway look to firming up on a notable wintry spell of weather to come both in terms
of cold and snow. Fingers crossed for real winter weather fans.
I'm glad, its always a good sign when that happens

Hi everyone, I don't think I have ever posted in this thread before, more of a regional bod, but I do follow the MOD thread with great interest.
I do not have a great amount of free time to learn how to read the charts, so I value everyone's insights and views, however I have found the last 48 hours almost unbearable, almost to the point where I wanted to throw in the towel, the level of personal attacks and disharmony shocked me.
Everyone has a personal preference for the weather, that's what makes this forum so amazing, I just hope that the waters have calmed and you guys with the knowledge can co-exist now!
So thanks once again everyone, have a fantastic new year!

Tis a pretty rare event to not have 1 snowfall cover from November to date, obviously still plrenty of time and it snowed and settled here last April for instance but even I admit February is not looking good unless you want even more rain.
I wonder when the last Autumn/Winter and Spring was down here when not even 1 instance of a covering of snow ? Possibly back in the warm 1990's maybe.
I am guessing my layering of Hail on Friday will not qualify me for a wintry covering Lol
Was it you I heard on the Chris Evans show on radio 2 this morning???

must say, its a nice little goodbye from winter, looking forward to double figures this weekend and some loooooooooong overdue spring sunshine!
-
heavy snow here with fat flakes for quite a while, nice covering on most things, roads are ok at the mo
edit, fat flakes are back!
-
Maybe got an inch of level snow on grass but with the wind blowing around it is upto 3 inchs in places with some area of my back lawn still green.Wind still strong although Temp has risen from -1.7 at 7am to -0.4 at 8.50.Think we will be about plus 2-3 by 2pm before dropping again.Pretty disappointing really as places only 4-5 miles away from me like Knockholt/Halstead will have alot more than me and places like West Kingsdown(about 10miles) have been pounded!!
Looked at Beeb forecast(Carol Kirkwood) and it seems the fun and games might not have finished!!Look out for later today, tonight and tomorrow as things could be interesting for a wider area of the SE!!Would welcome comments from the experts like SM,John Pike etc as it could be another interesting night of lampost watching!!
My mum just called to say there is more on the way tonight and tomorrow! hope not really as i need to get to work!
strange here at the mo still snowing heavy, but the sky lightens up then goes dark and gets heavier again
-
still snowing heavy here, hardly any movement on the roads, snow day it is then!
-
-
i'd say a level 2" here at the moment, intensity has slowed a bit, wish i could say the same for the wind!
Hope to get a pic of my 3 week old with the snow in it tomorrow

Says it all when madrid has had some epic snow, and they are even further south lol, even a desert has had more snow than us, I have enjoyed watching it fall and taking my little boy out for a walk in it, but I agree with steve, looks to be over now, still only 10 months until the chase starts again :-)
