  1. Yeah keeping everything crossed (but not holding my breath!). Here's hoping... and also hoping you see some action this weekend
  2. Hmmm, anyone having a late-night chill in the Balearics right now might just be pondering... 'do I look north, or south?'...
  3. Welcome aboard fellow storm-starved SWChaser. Keeping everything crossed for the next 48 hours... although I'm away this weekend, 45 miles north on the border of Cornwall/Devon in Bude. If I miss anything noteworthy then I'll be returning home on Sunday with the biggest sulk anyone has ever witnessed...
  4. I'd be happy just to see a single strike like that, let alone 20 or so as per that footage...
  5. Once they get used to the chill they'll be sprinting our way...
  6. Nice nice nice! Back here we've had a couple of very distant light displays, from elevated storms 20+ miles away
  7. I want to agree with you... but all the time I'm still out in t-shirt and shorts.... we're still in with a shout...
  8. I hope I'm not clutching at straws, but way down south things are stirring...
  9. I think to put it out there, having been led up the garden path (more times than ever this season) it's a truly and accepted response as far as I (and my region) are concerned. Granted, multiple regions will raise eyebrows and say 'you're having a laugh'... and fair play, it's been mega for some/same locations... but not all. Tomorrow/Sunday is literally "worth the 5 month wait"... or... let's go back to trainspotting... with the caveat that even these bloody things are as rare as pulling hen's teeth to spot nowadays...
  10. Looks amazing Dorsetbred Your garden view is nothing short of stunning... especially with that beach bar just steps away from you... (personally!) Oh! Good luck OH!!
  11. Absolutely, as per 2 mins ago it's all eyes to the south...
  12. Yep absolutely bang on the money.... and right on cue the radar is coming to life for northern bay of Biscay...
  13. Spot on @ChannelThunder, but for once here's hoping Arome underdoes things...
  14. ... and rapidly forming in to supercells by the time they hit UK southern coastal regions...
  15. Haha, spot on! If I can add my pound coin's worth... Let's face it, on the whole (and in our SW back yard), we have faired really poorly this year. No convective storms (always a clutch of straws for the SW), more of a concern though, lack of continental imports/fronts moving north over us... Soooo....... chin up, because despondent and deflated as we may well feel, I really think our time (and the endless wait) will come over the course of Saturday night/Sunday... BIG TIME
  16. Exactly, and at least any storm's (at a starting point further west) should very likely track north east, allowing more scope for Cornwall, Devon, Dorset eastwards to kop some (belated) action...
  17. We are looking like a direct hit! Social media already sounding out that there are sferics in clear sky's, yet the storm is 40 plus miles away to our south (currently). Possibly Plymouths first direct hit of 2023... Here's bloody hoping!!!
  18. Why thank you kindly! ... and here's keeping everything crossed for you and the remainder of our storm-starved region!
  19. Always lovely to see you on here legritter. Have a lovely break, and I hope you get to enjoy a storm... with a pakka mac, Stella and sausage baps to hand...
