  1. That's total dedication to your team Sarah... but to witness a win AND a storm within 48 hours is as rare as finding a hen's missing tooth... Joking of course... and enjoy your well deserved Prosecco...
  2. Frontal system now taking shape and moving north off Biscay... i think a good few southern folk may be in for a rude awakening come the early hours...
  3. Good spot! Occurred from nowhere... Suddenly becoming interesting...
  4. Agreed Liam.. and look what's appearing from the SW on the radar...
  5. ???... where did you get that temp from? All my apps currently indicate 21/22c... either way i bottled it re dipping my toes!
  6. 'Smells' thundery. Warm and humid sums it up. Current cloudscape looking out West... Tempted to take a dip myself...
  7. Warm and humid, 'smells' thundery. Current skyline looking out s/west...
  8. That's the highlight of my holiday as far as I'm concerned...just don't tell my wife...
  9. Congrats to all who smashed their maxes today! We topped at 32c here (impressive for our coastal city), but managed to hammer our all time record set in 1976 (31.3c) 2 weeks ago when we reached 34c.... Lovely to break a record...but not wanting an annual occurrence of record breaking heat!! Take care all, and after this heat...let's bring on a storm or 2...
  10. 39.8c @Heathrow airport onon Monday 18th July. Why go abroad?....
  11. Hey, glad I'm not alone! Have managed 3 hours sleep but the wind has won and woken me up (and truth be told, I wanted to get up early to look at the charts!). Your ominous sensitivity is shared, and 3 hours after our previous posts I can now justify that Eunice is now howling outside and is knocking on the door. Just the beginning, scary already. Stay safe!
  12. Hi all, just outside of the red warning area (perplexed why not red as this storm falls bang in commute hours here in Plymouth). Swathe of England in highest matrix on amber alert, ready and waiting for storm Eunice...Looking at charts, models, latest sat (provided by your good selves)....and....listening to the now increasing gusts outside, I really am already feeling anxious and nervous as of what's to hit us. I love extreme weather, but already the winds are picking up here, hours before Met warnings kicks in. Stay safe all, I don't often get nervy, but feel this will rock a good part of us - and will be a memory and tale for years to come. I'm knocking on a bit, 53 years young, so have witnessed the great storms of the last 4 decades......but this, I feel will really a be a newsworthy and memorable event for the history books.
  13. Just playing catch-up...today hadn't gone to plan....dog poorly, rushed to vets, left without him...but thankfully (all be it £380 bill later, but worth it!) he's back with us now, but the vet recommended that i never show him +144 charts again... On a more poignant and serious note, if i may (whilst having the courage to stray off topic), i want to thank each and everyone here on NW for your input ( however it may have seemed inoculate or full on top draw analysis at time of post). You ALL, i guarantee, hold a place on my heart. I picture an individual personality and face to each and every one of you on here (don't get tetchy or be sensitive), it's a compliment to each and everyone of you (and besides, you'll never ever know who i tap 'ignore to'...) It's been a tough 2 years for us all, and my heart goes out to a fair few of you on here as i type this... If i can be open and honest? I work for local government, and my role is to try and prevent homelessness... I've always been a people person, hands on, face to face, etc.......working from home (no choice) has really affected my mental health - I'm sure I'm not alone on here...but, be open, talk to people (and your employer!!)...it really does help! Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas, and, here's to a positive 2022, in more ways than one!
  14. I think i can cope with that.... Picking up the in-laws well and truly off limits...
  15. Nicely summed up Matt. Always enjoy your upbeat/positive posts, regardless of what the models are showing! @sheikhy - i've been hooked on this forum for years (love it!). We have the best bunch of nutters, dedicated through thick and thin, day in day out. Sheikhy - i wish to single you out (don't stop reading this(!!!!)... i remember reading your posts several years ago (!!!!) - you were a 'fledgling' back then, but, you always 'chirped up' and said your bit, whether it went with the grain or not... Since then your contribution on here has been (and continues to be) second to none! There's a wealth of experienced posters on here (too many to mention) whom i listen to and appreciate their timeless dedication and knowledge, which is a million miles beyond my grasping of our general weather set-ups! So...back on to you, and your presence on this forum... You've come on leaps and bounds in the years that I've been reading your posts. Your knowledge of reading/understanding the runs forever grows, and i always take notice when you've commented on one such run... Take this as a massive compliment, and...to all the new fledgling and budding lurkers on here (including one's self), it's never to soon to feel that you can't ( or ponder) whether to add your penny's worth on here......but just try and lay of the exclamations!!!! ()... Stay positive all, in more ways than one, and wishing you all the best Christmas break ever!
  16. Hi Tim, apologies as late to the party...and catching up BIG TIME on here..... Good to see you back...and,with an immediate 'Yes!!' from me!! ❄❄❄
  17. No not all, don't hold back. Say what you want to say (as in your personal analysis)...the 98% of folks on here are a really good bunch, always there to reply in a respectful and knowledgeable way. The mods are also here to warn or even ban people who step over the line. I can assure you I am just as 'new' to you on here...Been a member for 11 years, BUT, like you, mainly read, observe, laugh, cry, throw my toys out, hide behind the sofa, down a quick pint in readiness for the next run......you get my gist...welcome to the forum
  18. Hey @Wold Topper, it wasn't meant to be directly aimed at you. TI has had a bit of stick in the past (from certain idiots within the forum),and i felt i needed to voice up his tireless contribution on here. Crossed wires, and no need to apologise. All's good...and like yourself I'm learning also...
  19. Hey swfc! That's the current fascination (more so for me!)...as in: Will the low move in a line W to E (barrow through), or, NW to SE...(slider)??? Heck this is no done deal...and come Xmas day...anyone for 'blindfold pin the donkey'?...
