  1. Actually, one of the most notable things about last winter, was the lack of juicy charts. It seemed like an endless horror show of westerly driven dross. In previous winters, we had charts to drool over in FI regularly, and of course, they didn't come to fruition, but this winter was markedly different and the models performed quite well.
  2. Wild out now, sleeting heavily and gale force winds
  3. Looking forward to the white pics tomorrow lads, jaffa cakesing rain here! Good luck!
  4. Remember New Years Eve being transfixed in 2009-2010 on the weather station, the temperature dropping like a stone, the very light rain turning to sleet at about 9pm, the sleet turning to proper snow, giving a light covering, then stopping. The temp had gone from +11C to -2 in about 3 hours. It started to sleet and rain again slightly. I was so disappointed, that I just went to bed. Woke up to a belt of thunder at 2 am. Got out of bed, and the snow was belting down, all was white and New year had rung in beautifully for me!!! What followed was the stuff of legends. I've never lost that feeling. I'll be staying up tonight to keep an eye out anyway!
  5. Bucketing down small snow flakes and grapple here for the last few minutes, starting to stick on the grass.... edit: stopping and melting now!
  6. Biblical rainfall here today for a few hours, lots of localised flooding.
  7. Took the kids out of school and headed up to Wicklow for my snow fix! Best idea I’ve had in ages... It was breathtaking up there. Here’s the view of Lugnaquilla from Sally’s gap. Loved it. Oh, so did the kids!
  8. Breaking up fairly quickly as it makes landfall.... Sadly!
  9. Looking at the radar, the precipitation is dying off before it reaches here. Shame really as what fell earlier has stayed on grass and there is ice forming on the cars already.
  10. Same here, think precipitation will be the problem tonight
  11. Snowed quite heavily in Dublin on and off all day, nothing sticking. Mountains look glorious!
  12. Really? Wow, barely a gust here. I was awake all night through Ciara (working) and it was much wilder than this.
  13. Looks like you guys up north are in for a pasting! The precipitation is dying away before it reaches here however, meaning after it's earlier scare, the Dublin snow shield has regrouped and in full force!
  14. Dublin snow shield smashed! Pelted down huge flakes for about 20 minutes, but all melted. Lovely to see mind you!
  15. Wind really picking up her now. I won't use my usual line of what type of person would be blown off what type of sibling, but it's getting to that level!
  16. It's amazing the consistent output regarding this potential violent storm in a week from now. It throws everything at us, violent and damaging winds, rain, sleet, snow, hail and thunder. A vicious storm.
  17. New model thread was supposed to get rid of this dangerous looking storm in 10 days, not re-enforce it!!! Disappointed in the moderators and admins allowing this to continue!
  18. OH YOU TEASE! Everything is on the table right now post day 7/8. Big scatter.
  19. I'll be shooting bullets at the clouds, Alabama styleeee!
