All smooth and steady on the 18z GFS. If we're still on target tomorrow after the 12z's I will tell the kids. Feic it lads, the lockdown needs some happiness attached! -
I know where you are coming from @The Weather Watcher and I've been burned so many times before, but the convergence of the ops on most (if not all) the main NWP's convince me that we are 80% there on the cusp of my log buying intelligence!! Ensembles weren't anywhere near to this convincing 2 days ago either. In fact, they were wildly un-optimistic about the low dropping away SE. As always, time will tell. I will tell my kids on Thursday if this is still going smoothly!

Haha! Thanks dude! Haven't told anybody about it yet, apart from the missus who always asks! I'll let the kids know on Thursday if the charts are still this good. PS. I don't expect them to remain at the nirvana levels they currently are, but hopefully cold enough to get enough for a snowman! And to get some value out of my bloody log pile!

Good looking output for next weekend for those of us on the east coast of the island. Wouldn't take many tweaks to make it a country wide event.

That's mad Ted! We registered 10 degrees here twice in the last 48 hours. Bucketing down rain here, the road outside is starting to flood. Maybe a yellow warning for the Dublin area would have been on the cards? Once again, Mother Nature decides!!!

A few flakes falling, barely a dusting to be honest! Temp has risen above freezing so it's not sticking well! Am going to grab a can of beer and go for a walk with the dog, just to enjoy what I can! Sorry for not replying earlier, I was busy snorting all the white stuff in the garden!!!

Temp down to -0.5 and dew point -2. Precipitation about a half hour away.

Precipitation appears to be dying out fast judging by the radar on met.ie and if I see any at all, will be very light. Dew point -1.8 and temp at 0.1 so anything that does fall should be white! Fingers and toes crossed. About 10pm is my estimate for it reaching here (if it does!)

Dew point just went below zero here temp 1.1 Precip stopped about an hour ago, if we get any more, should fall in some form of whiteness...

Well my logs arrived. Most likely they’ll be used in the log burner in the garden on a summers evening!!!

Seriously though, for a moment... Work has buggered me over the last year, and in particular the last few weeks. I/we really could do with this. Need some "normality" or even "fun" for us as a group! Fingers crossed everybody.

Sorry folks, I just jinxed it! I ordered 2 tonnes of logs to be delivered Saturday... If that doesn't kill it, nothing will! Seriously though, could really do with this promised snowy spell, it's been a tough year for all, but the last few weeks have been horrendous. Be nice to have something to do with the family outside!
