  1. 18z GFS and para both suggesting it's a very brief and short lived slightly milder blip. A trend or a blip??
  2. A tad more amplified but no great difference to us on our islands.
  3. Just a thought, even as such a small island as ours has wildly different weather events depending on where you are on the island. Would there be much call for provincial threads for Ireland? Say Leinster, Ulster, Munster and Connaught? Or is that too much?
  4. A bit of advice to those frustrated and with model fatigue. Go out and enjoy (if restrictions allow) the cold weathered take a break from model watching for a couple of days. Come back and things will look a whole heap brighter. I do this every year and it is truly worth it, trust me!
  5. That's that then. Let's hope these next couple of days offer something wintery for us all!
  6. Sorry, but I disagree. Looks to have shifted everything east and sank the high a bit. Always worth waiting to see how it all pans out anyway!
  7. 168 and icon has us in a light W/SW flow under high pressure. Not the start we wanted to the 12's
  8. 18z almost made me faint. Wowzers. Hopefully this is close to the truth, it's as close to 2010 as we're likely to get in our lifetime again!!!
  9. In the immortal words of a certain poster here on Netweather.... "WTF"! Astonishing and the best eye candy seen in many years, dare I say 2010.
  10. I’m kind of hoping so, looks decent for Dublin anyway!!!
  11. Rain/sleet here presently, temp 2.2 and dew point 1.1
  12. Small dusting here this morning. First snow since 2018!
  13. Really hard frost out now. -0.3 and a dew point of -1.5 Still no snow. Maybe in with a shout tomorrow for a few flakes. Dublin snow shield still in full effect. Welcome back snowy dog!!!
  14. Just cold drizzling rain here. Currently 4.8 degrees and a dew point of +2 so I'll be getting nothing out of this current set up. Very little precipitation hitting here too. Spoke to an old friend this morning who was in Mullingar and he said it snowed heavy and stuck around for a few hours.
  15. Rain/sleet here, and lashing down. Awful night out there.
  16. Rained here earlier, but there's a band of precipitation hitting Dublin soon, will report in!
  17. That is beautiful. I guess we'll know about the separation in 24/36 hours... Until then, DO NOT TELL ANYONE! Don't be the jinx!
  18. Those of us around here long enough, will remember the winter of 09-10 where the models, nearly in unison, counted down the days from 12 days out with northern blocking, coming in with every run! This has the same sort of feel about it, consistent and all singing from the same hymn sheet. That said, we've been bitten before, at 96 hours out, but that happens mostly with Scandi highs. GHP's are that bit more reliable IMO. My advice would be, enjoy the eye candy charts, and if they come to pass, then super. If they don't, then so be it. This year has been horrible for hundreds of thousands of people across our islands, this comes as a nice distraction to us weather enthusiasts. Enjoy it, try not bicker, and pray to whatever God or deity you follow that they do come to fruition!
  19. At the time, the run wasn’t out to 216, so my reaction to his comment is quite valid
  20. Sorry, but they’re poles apart from the great GFS run we just witnessed, much less amplification
  21. Great excitement in the MOD thread tonight and with good reason. Will keep myself occupied for the next 36 hours, if it’s still there when I check back in, I’ll start to believe!
