Quite surprising in a relatively small area how much snow cover has varied, first day back at work (well making an appearance) i started at my fathers near Woodhall Spa it was fairly white big drifts in the road edges , to Brigg and our office snowy but not as much via Scunthorpe which was patchy in comparison back home to Bessacarr (Donny) Mrs had killed car battery and then down to Retford which was even snowier, Donny and Nth Notts seem to have copped more thats for sure, did enjoy snowballing my 3 Jack Russells mind (in works time of course) in all seriousness work was cancelled, least they give the poor squirrels a break

The road out of Scunthorpe toward Dragonby and WInterton is *** and apparently has 2ft of snow on it that's blown off the fields.
Ah can remember back in 2010 I lived in Winterton, epic times the A1077 was blocked a few times so me and my mates all walked to town via Normanby brrr

I think these just extend the current shower activity rather than introduce new showers. Good to see progress of existing weather but bad for new showers in my opinion.
Probably right, though I use it to spot chunks way out and see if they intensify and their track

Wish the radars would cover the entire North sea. We could then see what's out there!
seems fairly decent, certainly was right over night and into this morning

find this useful obviously no guarantee but those 'blobs' can surely only gain further moisture as they come across

Crikey what a difference 24hrs makes snows coming down here heavy, proper covering here and more to come, looking at predicted radar and there's a further few big areas coming in today from out at sea all the way from Denmark, to top it off text at 10.15 last night saying no need to come into work

There's a bigger chunk early hours might be some use to us

Those showers are already pepping up out at sea, though I'd trade them for the NE lots, strewth!

Without wishing to cause too much excitement in here but totally in line with my earlier post this PM I suggest that you all look at the following:
https://www.buienradar.nl/wereldwijd/europa/buienradar/3uurs
This is a 3 hr radar projection from the Netherlands rain radar and shows a large area of organised activity developing just off Ostend and the Hook of Holland that appears to be heading in our general direction as the winds start to veer more Easterly - the potential for some significant accumulations from that later this evening!
Nice find, lets hope the trajectory improves and the wind shifts

Hoping the forecasts are right and at the least a top up/ few cm's appear as it suggests, maybe night time will help a slow build up of accumulations from these showers we can live in hope im clinging to the fact the shower size is a bit bigger

Everything is dropping go on GFS and look at how the 510 line filters in after 3pm. Some crazy convection to come... dont think people realise how much worse its going to actually get. Im with Steve Murr on this
Does look like the showers are forming bigger already out at sea

Works office will be getting pasted hopefully (Scunthorpe) and i can lay in tomorrow looking at radar and each hr means temps dropping small acorns and all that

i had a sausage roll for lunch, was lovely ?
Thats not very nice i know Barnsley has more hills than here, but he'll get cold in all the snow

At least there seems to be a bit more intensity to whats forming, nice chunk of showers at the mouth of the Humber building for someone, winds getting up a bit now too, i always wrongly or rightly use tree branches as the yardstick for melt, if its still on them its not too drastic think i need more food maybe a hotdog i think , bread onions, sauce and.....

Strewth so far an anti climax, whilst normally in Doncaster (where i live) stopping my Dads for a few days, was optimistic he lives near the Lincolnshire wolds, whilst theres been a few hefty 10 minute showers its too sporadic to really build up, though we have a light few cms covering, hoping the outlooks right and the showers pick up as the day and night go's on, two days off yesterday and today, i work outside on sports grounds/golf courses so hoping i can manage to wing it for the rest of the week radar seems erratic, though seems more intense showers forming so fingers crossed, anyway late lunch so time for sausage and egg muffins

A few flurries about today looking at the radar, seen a few flakes already
-
Really localised falls here (east edge of Doncaster) guessing it was snow and sleet mixture overnight as there is a dusting/ Cm or so but scattering between villages, working just south of here and Gringley on the hill which is maybe only 100m or so higher much whiter, had to pop down be rude not too

Hoping as previously said later on in the day things turn more favorable, saying that I've popped down to Retford from Doncaster for work seen the full works already, rain sleet, hail and a brief period of moderate wet snow so anyone higher up should be optimistic, forecast looks OK as it stands, though more flip flopping than a week in Brid

Hoping for an interesting morning tomorrow traveling for work, not sure how I'll fare here near Kivo but off to Tankersley and western edge of Sheff and down to Chez Vegas to different construction sites, that's if they're open, fingers crossed for us all, sadly not a west Yorkshire day or Harrogate travelling one for me, I think as others have said that bit extra Northern extent will help
