well V6 radar is showing as rain/snow (green) the front moving in at the mo wonder if theres going to be same set up as Sunday night i.e here near sprunehorpe snow yet as the crow flies 7-8miles in Brigg rain via North sea modification making it marginal?

whilst one of a few knowledable people in the Model Thread if all is lost Steve disappears so encouraging think that with so much flipping and flopping up to T48 all to play for
-
I wonder if my eyes are deceiving me but the rest of the front out in the North Sea looks to slightly pivot whilst edging WNW, if not i'll blame the radar
-
After leaving the Mrs house darn sarf well near Newark and seeing it covering over and then getting back to the scunny area seeing it clear altogether i was somewhat disappointed but have woken up to find a wet but white covering of 3cm here
-
Crikey just looked at radar whilst small there's plentiful showers inwards bound and some darker echoes to earlier whilst never going to be epic nice to see

few snaps from today not especially wintery but as i was off work -
another shower rattling through, being a optimuist i'm working on principle that it tops up any thaw gonna pop out after the gym and take a few pics (if beemer does'nt get stuck rear wheel drive and all that oh and freeze as climates not working properly )
-
grrr can see the showers passing by a matter of a few miles bound towards Scunny radar check shows this too though looking to be a few broader showers forming out in the North sea, upside apart from some hard surfaces little thaw
-
Decent dusting everywhere here, couple of cm, the wind howling around the gables and intense short showers of powdery snow blowing around the hard surfaces oh and a day off work i can't do any surveying of flora and fauna like this
-
whilst far from exciting already had light snow flurry in Brigg and two Graupel showers tho short in Mkt Rasen so hoping for a few cm between now and Mon
-
we need an injection of something , i've been optimistically hoping for something to happen in the models to give even a slight bit of interest seems that whats happened previously i.e shifts up to last minute aren't happening this time even if they were worse for the uk ,we haven't even got bitter cold frosty ice days to at least enjoy merely grey skies and chilly temps but no cigar and all the time the clock keeps ticking, though at work today had to shed a layer as depressing as it is in the sun

As I type, I can hear a neighbour mowing their lawn !
Goodness.
B.
Arrrgh the death knell of interesting weather

getting an impending sense of dread that winters slipping away though not reaching for Nick Sussex prozac supply yet least a bite to the air due this weekend and from here can watch the snow showers drifting down the coast, really hope the ECM is correct at least it offers promise running out of credible Fi time , and can we just Nuke that Canadian/Greenland piece of vortex....
-
saw proof of elevation today in the most instant sense, whilst skiving...ahem looking busy at work in the van i was in both Misterton and Gringley on the Hill approx 3 miles apart(yes i know technically outside region) but can see Donny from there ......but just the small difference in elevation between the two places made such a difference 1 degree lower in Gringley and no thaw at all and based on todays observations an inch and a half more depth than Misterton (possible thaw but -1 all day there) and yet only 196ft difference apparently in altitude enough drivvling anyway
-
arrrgh damn sleety drizzle here thankfull radar says its going North of the Humber and catching the southern extent just hope it holds off thawing totally till the weekend means i get time off on pay
-
few snaps taken at work today near Doncaster/Maltby way temps not been above freezing all day for me

-

thats looking much better on Sunday afternoon/evening though it is gfs chart for ppn
-
Reading up on the model discussion page it loos like we may be in for a BIGGER treat Sunday! Most of what's said on there goes straight over my head !!
Time to venture out soon and do some work!
The sunday event won't have to jump through so many hoops to affect us, so todays an appetizer for the weekend
-
Im liking the look of the feature monday,if it comes off it appears to affect most of our region later that day and monday too , throw in convective potential im optimistic, still think something will happen today just more modest, the band NAE aside looked to weaken a few days ago always looked to be a PM event for us, upside is it means cold is well entrenched this front struggling so much today. keep the cold the snow will come! if of use im just outside region working in Retford :s darkening up a bit odd flakes in wind and -1
-
Watch the north sea produce showers tom and sat!!!!!!!!
Whilst many are better qualified to look than myself the ECM from what i can see :S has us in being fed nicely flow wise from the East so no coastal margins malarkey if they pop up they should drift inland , though i guess it depends on how tomorrows front pans out
-
Not expecting too much (patchy light moderate snow), and whilst not gospel the gfs ppn chart pivots the front during sunday back up from the SE, giving the Eastern part of our region maybe all of us... a second bite if tomorrows fall is modest so i may get shot down but you guys to the west win tomorrow and the rest play catch up over the weekend

so don't view tomorrow as the be all and end all

I reckon you shall see some though maybe a bit wetter and not the quantities that those further west will get, i'm just the other side if the water and V6 radar says snow over me but nothing as yet soon see bulk of the eastern edge over us though
