  1. Are we ready people of Yorkshire. The thread will liven up next week. Finally wintry showers now falling here and that's in much warmer 850s than next week.

Certainly looking more optimistic for some of us up here than the dross we have been having be typical for the block to strengthen and repel fronts short of our region
  2. Grrr the will it or won't it saga continues hoping for a bit of a backtrack on todays runs GEM excepted which still maintained a decent outcome, i should know better and not do the fall into the trap of knee jerk reactions to runs but you end up caught in the thread, gonna need the infamous prozac soon Posted Image

  3. Crikey nearly cross model agreement on some  seasonal weather and in the nearly reliable time frame, hoping the pattern backs West a little more and up here we shall be in the firing line nicely, the SE bias often clouds what may be quite decent for us up here in model thread, though i guess we all clamour for the cold this time  of the year so can't grumble, just hope theres sufficient flow to bring showers in if it happens and not too slack, though getting carried away and may yet implode if the low doesn't go under the block, so reasons to be cheerful tonight Posted Image

  4. I think the trouble is our forecasters are scared of mentioning snow due to the ridiculous overreaction and vitriol that gets spouted as its never taken in context, i hope i'm wrong but i can see cold and lots of grey skies and some light snow  showers and graupel kind of  situation but some days genuinely struggling much above freezing a bit like last winters not quite there easterly , all speculation as there's lots of flip flopping and detail to be resolved, would love a more potent form of cold

  5. Well the wet snow never really materialised unless with any notable  altitude though perhaps i was being optimistic for us generally (knew i was too far East for anything, though brief bit of sleet last night) woke to find treacherous roads though with a very bizarre patchy frost, local council were caught with their pants down methinks and been a chilly feeling 6 degrees at most here, that's one thing that can frustrate in the model thread is peoples perception of mild or rather not making it clear if they are referring to meteorological terms temp wise or real world mild as whilst its no cold spell its chilly i would call mild above 10 degrees, might i add lets hope things angle towards HLB chances with the PJF to go holiday south as progged in the models, maybe a nice 91 style setup would be good

  6. Heres hoping some of our region have some falling snow over the coming week, no notable accumulations but hey a little interest and seasonal at least, admittedly won't stick or hang around with the flip flopping temps between systems coming in, but seems we have the possibility if the intensity is there and you have a bit of altitude

  7. What a grim old soggy day hovering around 9 though felt chiller in the oppressive drizzle,  some chilly bright days will be a relief working outside in it, though a touch depressed at the event downgrading even a few flurries or near zero days would have made it interesting well would have made for an easy working week anyway Posted Image (being on salary in winter can be great) just hoping there's no return to zonality, though the models seem to be edging towards a hp scenario with potential for an easterly based incursion heres hoping though theres more flip flopping than a summer day at Cleethorpes

  8. After feeling a chill in the air i have appeared back on here Posted Image  in all seriousness whilst a bit grim (and i work outside) it made a refreshing change to feel a bite to the wind, very autumnal day near Doncaster with nagging light rain, willing away September as whilst it can happen i'm eagerley anticipating the first proper frost, though i'm having an Autumn break in North wales in mid October so it can be unseasonably mild that week Posted Image

  9. Seems to be a never ending winter, snow flurries again today and whilst i love cold weather and snow even my resolve is dwindling, 3 degrees here today no snow cover ashen grey skies and watching the showers of substance float by further North, i think its been an interesting winter but lacked any true excitement for around here no decent falls of snow really nor extremes of temperature merely chilly, but better than mild muck. Good to see at least some of you guys doing well though, always been N Yorks or Western Yorks this year for the best excitement this season, always the fringes for us lot tho but hey 6-7 mths and back to the hunt again good.gif
