  1. Problem is the long term prospects are poor for cold if that lp slides too far West, that's how I understand it anyway, the strong east/north east wind with cold air flooding towards the uk is gone from the models as that lp needs to move more south East into europe.
  2. Be a case of Cornwall getting the last laugh if that did happen, would be time to go into the banter thread and have a wind up lol. Fair play to those snow fans in Cornwall if that did happen though.
  3. That's a classic, many in the mod thread will not be pleased, especially those who were talking about getting a lot of snow from that slider That's if the ecm verified of course but the next run will no doubt alter the position again of that low.
  4. I missed seeing what that shower band dropped here, didn't hear any rain hitting the window so I'll be miffed if I missed sleet/snow falling
  5. Anymore pushes West, which seems to be happening with each run at the moment, with that slider lp and it'll only be the south West getting any precipitation lol
  6. That's totally uncalled for imo, he's one of the most knowledgeable posters on this site, the guy knows his stuff and it wasn't just the south West he was commenting on missing out, other areas including where he lives as well according to the models at the time, but as he also alluded to the track of this lp won't be known until much closer to the event. No doubt if the lp position changes in future runs then so will his assessment of what areas could see snow from it and I expect you wouldn't be so quick to disrespect the guy if he was saying what you want to hear!
  7. Yeah I saw those, wow charts my a@#e lol, good job those gfs precipitation charts aren't 100% accurate, especially in these kind of setups, plus at that range the fine detail will change, for better or worse.I could be wrong but I think we could be looking at a rain to snow event if the slider lp's happen as the models show them right now.
  8. No need for people in the south West, not going by that chart anyway but the detail will change at that range.
  9. We need something like the weather service from back to the future, a guaranteed channel low every week during the winter with cold enough temperatures
  10. Oh I'm not so don't worry about that but these slider lows can be so risky for the south west, very small margins in the track could mean either a whiteout or a washout. If I could choose between the two I would opt for the former though lol.
  11. That's true, well here's hoping that all who want to see snow get to early next week, that's if the cold charts don't vanish info thin air.
  12. Yeah I see people delighted at what the charts are showing in the mod thread, talking about a uk snowfest so I look a little deeper myself at the charts being posted only to see the southwest in the rain area, so much for a uk snowfest then, I swear some in the mod thread don't seem to acknowledge the south West exists lol. Still there's lots of uncertainty, Ian f posted in there earlier today that the met are unsure how far east these lp systems will slide south East and this is key for the south West, the further west these systems slide south east the better.
  13. With the recent model outputs it just goes to show how foolish some people look right now who were writing off the rest of winter just the other week, heck some were writing off the rest of January and now look at what the models are showing.
  14. So will the south West get in on the action regarding these slider lp's forecast for early next week or will we be on the wrong side, time to place your bets lol
  15. Think we need to hope the models have a good handle on things regarding the end of the weekend and into next week.
  16. Just plain old rain here, a bit sleety every now and again, the intensity of these showers just isn't heavy enough to drag the freezing level down.
  17. With all that's going on I expect nobody has checked the mod thread for info on the latest outputs, which if correct we won't have to wait long for the cold and snow to return, and I swear some who have seen snow tonight were in the mod thread just last week having a moan and saying the rest of winter would be snowless! lol.
  18. 99% rain, 1% sleet I'd say, we had more wintry showers earlier on than compared to now.
