  1. 1c drop in last hour or so. The -5c isotherm doesn’t seem to be coming back over us until 6am?
  2. Don’t even understand how there is even a sniff of a risk of snow for most places in NW England except the very tops, it’s 6c here, way too mild for frontal snowfall. We aren’t even in the ‘mild sector’ yet are we?
  3. This wintry spell was no where near the let down that was last month’s, but still a little disappointing. Looks like tonight will be rain away from hills too, and even the strongest winds will be south of the region.
  4. Just been reading on the Ireland forum that showers in the NW of the region are starting to turn to sleet and rain.
  5. BBC have me forecast a balmy 7c at 2am on Thursday morning, yet other models are showing heavy snow!
  6. After that lot in Manchester it’s a lot quieter on the radar.
  7. I spotted that. It was a mess. It was rain for a second, then snow and bits of rain, then all rain, within 2 hours haha! Don’t think their computers could handle it.
  8. The bbc forecast at 6pm wasn’t too exciting away from Scotland and Northern Ireland, and Wednesday night’s storm looks like a breezy and wet affair.
  9. 2.3c here, not sure of the DP, but a few showers here (I’m back home in Newton) have been sleet and hail.
  10. It had gone very calm here’s for the last 2 hours - the wind is now back up in Frodsham.
  11. Didn’t someone say that the low needs to move over Wales and exit at the Wash to make our chances of snow happen? Isn’t that what some of the charts on 12z are now showing? (See Karyo’s post above)
  12. I The warnings state in the north of the area first, then this evening and overnight for the rest of the area. So there’s still plenty of time. cherry picking of models/charts really is the reason for disappointment from a ‘too optimistic’ point of view. I’ve done it loads. One chart the Karyo posted showed DPs remaining over night below 0 to 6pm tomorrow. So who knows?
  13. Metoffice have downgraded the wind strengths for my location overnight tomorrow by around 10mph, so they are noting the shift south of the low now.
  14. Why are we writing off an event that isnt supposed to really get going until tonight?
  15. IM in Frodsham currently, and I’m right be the Mersey estuary and it’s sleeting/hailing here albeit very lightly.
