  1. He's the one Brian <_< So what's the steak news?
  2. Oooo - thank you <_< We like the guy with his back to us in the denim jacket - and wearing Wesco boots. Very nice. Can you go get his number?
  3. Awww yeah! Take some pervy shots for me Nick! <_< They'll be really friendly guys I'd imagine - can you get a group photo for your 'Scottish biker pal back home'? If you said that to 'em they'd gladly have their photos taken I bet If you get a bit of cloud or weather in the shot at the same time - it should keep everyone happy!
  4. I bet Paul S managed two! Hubby and I are wondering who the cute older guy on the far right of the photo is in the Harley t-shirt?
  5. How about some investment in new technology to bring it up to date? Or am I being too sensible lol. Popping this over to the media forum
  6. May 2008 photos in this thread please Any photos taken this month can be submitted, with a total of 3 weather and 3 non-weather photos. These will then be uploaded into the Gallery before voting. The weather related photo that wins the vote will be the photo for May in the 2009 netweather.tv calendar. Remember: Entries won't be accepted if they're sized above 1024 x 768. So please resize.
  7. Yes Reef - I know we've commented before on the fact that the UK really was divided around the far north of England: cold to the north and modern winter business as usual in most of the rest of England. And only a 2 1/2 hour train journey away! I think that observation will be worth recording
  8. From a cold perspective for me, it was the return of westerly zonal conditions that brought snow. Early January in particular, with coverings over 100m here for several days and that constant possibility of another snow event on the horizon. The number of air frosts was impressive as well. Pretty average overall for the last twenty years or so!
  9. Sounds lovely GW - I can picture it now down the commune It's only for the six weeks around the solstice that it's possible to read a newspaper outside at 1am here. But it's entertaining walking home from nightclubs at 3.30am at the weekends, and the birds are singing, the sky is blue and the sun's on it's way up
  10. That's class Gorky! Here's to a successful trip boys B)
  11. I'm away over the weekend at a punk stag do in Manchesterford, so will leave this open and sort out the final voting on Monday - let's have a few more opinions!
  12. Here's a great example of joined-up Government thinking: Let's build a third runway at Heathrow and Terminal Six. In the meantime let's not consider building a domestic high speed railway line that would kill dead short-haul flights in the UK and dramatically cut carbon emissions, or a rolling-programme of network electrification on the railways. Pure genius.
  13. We did have a lovely time - am very relaxed now! Shhhhhh. You promised not to say. The funny thing with the shotgun shot is that we had to stop shooting to let the Inverness - Kyle of Localsh train pass. How I would have liked to get revenge on Sprinters for superceding loco-hauled trains
  14. Whilst folk down south probably had a miserable dull weekend wondering where spring was, I found it up north in the Highlands! Have come back with a lovely sun tan and some beautiful memories and here's a few photos to share All taken around Glencarron, Strathcarron, and Applecross looking over the sea to Skye, with lots of snow above 500/600m
  15. Looks lovely - if a wee bit chilly! I remember watching 'Coast' on the BBC and the story of how celebrities in the 50s would go here to escape the tabloid photographers - cut off when the tide is in! A very photogenic. clear day and lovely shots
  16. Welcome to postin on nw heroweeny Of course, I won't expect to see one until July at this rate!
  17. That's all the photos entered into the March Photo Comp loaded into the Gallery - so let the voting begin! WEATHER PHOTOS NON-WEATHER PHOTOS Voting is easy. Simply have a look through the two galleries and decide on your five favourite photos from each - so that's TEN PHOTO CHOICES IN TOTAL. Then post your choices by replying in this thread. An example - if you like JB 2.jpg, simply list JB2 as one of your top five photos for each category (ten in total) in your post below. As you will notice the numbers of all the non-weather photos are prefixed with an 'N' - please quote this. If I have missed your photo and it's not in the gallery - please let me know. The most popular choices with then be entered into the final, which will be held later in the month, after this vote closes on Thursday 24th April. The winning 'weather' category entry will appear in the 2009 netweather.tv Calendar. There are 48 entries in the 'weather' category and 33 entries in the 'non-weather' category. You don't have to vote in both categories if you don't want to - or you can do up to five at at any time on different days - that's fine
