Still snowing moderately at Ventnor IOW Temp -2.9 Dew point -5.5 Wind chill -12.2 All roads that lead to Ventnor are blocked!

Just made it home from work and snow beginning to pep up at Ventnor IOW, looking set for a few more hours.

Has eased off at Newport I.O.W at the moment only very light showers at the moment, although on the plus just closed my school so off home in the next 1hr or so!!

IOW seems to be the place to be at the moment , still snowing pretty heavy and lots of schools now closing - A shame my school is not closing.......Yet.

Having a snow shower at ventnor iow as far south as you can pretty much get, not settling but totally unexpected!

I use Meteogroup one think it is £1.99 for initial download and then a further £1.49 for a more accurate radar.

Looking at the app now on ipad from meteogroup now has the snow hitting iow at about 1145, lets hope it keeps pushing west!!

Radar on Meteo group showing just missing iow at the moment goes out to 1145 at the moment. Weather has some wintry weather for iow and south coast tomorrow until 3pm looks good.

Looking at the latest radar looks like bulk of the snow will miss the IOW although just seen bbc24 news and things look interesting for south tomorrow morning.

Light snow at ventnor

Well all in all a fantastic day, only stopped snowing about an hour ago and just been out and measured before the melt sets in and we have had17cm in Ventnor far more than expected. Hats off to Ian Ferguson et al for getting this spot on. Here's looking forward to Sunday now, bring it on. -
Much lighter south of the iow now and also temperature is rising slightly and a slight thaw is happening.

Still chucking it down at ventnor, just got back from a nice walk in virgin snow and it was a pretty vicious biting wind almost like a blizzard!! Had about 8cm.

All schools on IOW are now closed!!

Woke up to a lovely covering of snow and I am as far south of the iow, still plenty to come, looks like. Snow day as I work in a school, where's thar sledge!!!
