Local press on the IOW beginning to ramp the threat of cold weather next week!

We will not get a better chance - I think we my well be lucky something akin to 2010 if we are lucky! It would be awesome to get some snow just to see the faces of my 7 year old boy and 18 month old daughter, that would make my year.

Same here!!!! but us Snow starved southerners deserve our time - you can’t help but be excited with the prospects!! Trouble is my wife keeps on giving me funny stares when I almost fall off my seat with every run!! How do I explain a 43 year old man acting like a child with the prospect of snow on the horizon!!!!!

Things looking good, must hold off telling family though!!!! That will be tricky but imperative!!!!!

I also don't like the way IOW is covered over with the name of Plymouth can they not just move it to below???

Grim here today has been wet for best part of the morning and not showing signs of improvement?? Hopefully we will get lucky in the coming weeks️️️☃

Hi John, You can click the little white arrow in the black box next to the time of post in the quoted post and this collapses the whole quote, this saves you scrolling all the way down to read the reply to the post. On to the models and it certainly is some exciting times ahead and lets hope we all get some Snow. This thread has certainly been top notch the last couple of days with some excellent analysis and detailed descriptions of what we can expect - this certainly helps people like myself who do try to understand what the models say but ultimately it confuses me more if I try and understand them too much!!

I really like the new graphics, looks far slicker and crisper imo. I think they will tweak it a bit and it will only get better. Its like anything it takes a while to get used to a bit like when Apple update IOS it is horrid for the first few weeks but after that it becomes the normality and you soon forget about the update!

It is certainly an exciting time ahead with the Models firming up on a period of cold weather for all, and hopefully further down the line we can expect even better prospects for everyone. There have been some excellent analysis today and this helps people like myself get a better understanding of how to interpret the charts so thank you for your input. I personally feel that we are on the cusp of a possible noteworthy spell of cold weather that we have not seen since 2013 (especially for us southerners!!) Roll on 3.30pm for the next round of model output and hopefully further upgrades will be incoming!!

Not expecting anything on the IOW but hopefully some surprises especially for the North part of our region.

It has been awful on IOW overcast, dull and feeling cold. It reached 6 degrees here.

Bvery sceptical of any snow Monday, more of a worry could be strong winds and heavy rain, especially for me on the IOW!???️

Certainly felt cold out today, didn't have a frost this morning but did have one yesterday. Certainly feel a change is in the air!

Just watched BBC news and they had a report about a 1 in 3 chance for extreme wet weather like 2014 this is for late Autumn and in to winter, they mentioned the Super computer predicting this? what are people's thoughts?

The other day I thanked the posters for their wonderful insight into the models and help people like myself to learn. Reading this thread tonight and it is like play school and very confusing to read and at least get an understanding! Act like grown ups everyone is entitled an opinion, just respect everyone else's! onto the Models and I am looking forward to hopefully a bit of snow and my take is a few days warm up and then back into the freezer. It is going to feel pretty cold the next few days and I think we maybe surprised but just how cold it will feel.

May I take this opportunity to thank the countless posters who take the time to explain and help newbies like myself to have a better understanding and things to look out for with regards the weather charts. My take on things is that I believe we could be on the cusp of some very welcome wintry weather and it is nice to see charts looking this promising. @nicksussex any chance of some of your scores out of 10 for each model, certainly enjoy reading these when you do them. keep up the good work all!

Its all part of the fun and the thrill of the chase!! Often we are left disappointed (In fact this is generally the case!!), but we would not have it any other way!

We can but hope!! at least it has increased and not gone all together!!

Met Office update has increased slightly from yesterday, I think this has been increased due to the chances of Ice forming. Hopefully attached! Yesterday it was on the row below so definitely a higher risk today.

Let's hope for a few upgrades in the coming days! We have been starved of snow for far to long! i think for us on the south coast it will be very cold and possibly the odd flurry! But not expecting too much!
