A couple of these, one on USB lead and one on power adaptor might help.
Inexpensive to try.

Hello all,
Recently purchased the above weather station and wondered if anybody else has the same issues.
Whenever i connect the station via the usb cable to my pc the anemometer shows dotted lines (no data being received). Generally the connection is ok when USB isnt plugged in (sometimes i have to hit the search button), just everytime i plug in the USB.
If anybody can help i would be very grateful.

i cant explain erm its not really needed information though i just need ideas on how to stop the sunlight hitting the sensor maybe building a wooden box infront of sensor but still beneath the sensor its clear if you know what I mean?
if you've got the same sensor as me then maybe a modified bird box??
-
I know this but I cant move it and that isnt an option i need ideas on how to leave it were it is and get accuratish as possible readings.
where is it positioned?
-
Yes I need ideas on how to sort out sun problem hitting the sensor + my rain gauge isnt registering any readings
Mines about 2 ft off the patio on the side of a wooden rasied bed, sun only just misses it but in the summer i'll have to reposition it.
Didnt want it near the house due to kitchen/bathroom extractor fans effecting the readings.
If i were you i'd put it anywhere you can where the sun dosent catch it, just so you can get some consistant(ish) readings.
good luck

Ill try that rain tipping thing when I can and I was thinking what about if i put a piece of cardboard infront of the sensor and put holes in it would that work?
Hi Snow
I've got the same station, are you still having any problems?
