  1. Evening all! :hi:

Back for another Winter on NetWeather!...

I would love to join in with the "temperature watch", but we've recently moved house and in the process of doing so the removal men smashed my weather station!

I doubt I'll get another one up-and-running before the winter is over (if it ever gets going that is!)...

The car said it was 4.5ºc about 30 minutes ago here.

Oh, I'm in Bristol now (Emersons Green area)... Not sure what the "ASL" figure is but will try and find out!

Not sure what to believe tonight... Will I wake up to a white world or a washout! :cc_confused:

shame you moved from trowbridge mate, remember last winter well when it dumped snow when everyone said it wouldnt!

  2. It is very good however I have never been totaly sure if it predicts what ppn is rather than nowcasting it!? because I have noticed it does from time to time show rain when clearly it is snowing outside and vice versa.

rain is currently up to bristol channel east of region and south west wales.

Another good source of information is to check the wonderground website and see how general temperatures are reacting in your region, should be able to get an idea of when the undercut of colder air starts to feed in.

nice home page on the weather station, think i need to tweek mine a little. Also, never thought Chilcompton was that high up but clearly is!

  3. Yes i agree however i doubt the snow line will be that straight either ect but it shows a good southwest movement of snow potential and if that was to be the final 'correct chart' id take bank that anyday as gives somerset, bristol, wilts and glouc all much better chance. :clapping:

I should really lay off the wine tonight! one and a half bottles is really starting to make life hard on this forum :help:

surely its making it easier :drunk:

got a half day tomorrow so will be watching the NW forums for updates, expecting another rollercoaster day. Agreed it would be rather boring if it was too predictable.

  4. I suspected the Mendips area would get some wet snow! Glad for you!

Still possible for more wet snow in the south west for the rest of the week! On iPhone at the moment so unfortunately can't post charts, but someone recently posted a GFS chart for Friday in the model discussion thread that had snow from Somerset northwards on it!

If anyone can post it on this thread that would be good so people know what I'm talking about!

Wouldn't be suprised if people in the Cotswolds woke up to a dusting of snow tomorrow either!

twas only briefly and had i not had to work in it i would have appreciated it even more!

is it me or is this winter started off really complicated and unpredictable?

i've also subsrcribed to the NW radar, 15min refresh just isnt fast enough!
