Just had a look at the Points West forecast... wow! Maybe one day we will get half as good as that at Look North, that is just how it is meant to be! How on earth are there such massive regional differences in terms of detail? BBC should sort that one out.
He is the dog's danglies for his evening forecasts. As good as or better than the national team with his detailed explanations.

I liked his enthusiasm, although I found his presenting style a little distracting!

My weather station predicts snow within 12-48 hours so brace yourselves
Edit: should have read previous posts.....it'll still snow though because Oregon says so

Well West Country people we were treated to this this evening, one of the benefits of the front being close enough to make it cloudy but far enough away to alllow the sun to shine as it set. The edge of the frontal cloud was visible throughout the day, just gradually edging Westwards as the afternoon progressed.
Saw the build up but missed the uber ten or so minutes of it

Nope but I have witnessed one getting run over by a car once on Tulse Hill road...poor thing.
Same here, a few days ago. Ran out, stopped then ran back but didn't beat the mighty mondeo tyre.

Clear blue sky here, very slight breeze. Lush afternoon but not feeling the potential today!

Encouring news that there is thunder within the showers further south. I wonder if they can become more potent as they track NEwards through the morning. Would love another bite at the cherry. The sun's also appearing again now and feeling warm and humid - lovely!
Looking on radar they seem to pop up out of no where, fresh Rumbles to my se

Torrential rain now and muffled elevated thunder every minute or so, interestingly the worst rain has happened now the sky has brightened.

go back and look at the model thread last weekend. many people said it was going to be a washout. gleefully as well.
i'm all for people commenting on what they see but when they comment on things that are over a week away as though its fact when we all know things don't work out like that i get a little bit annoyed.
Maybe a pinch of salt should be taken before believing what anyone says the exact weather conditions will be in a weeks time?

evening guys, quick question/observation, wondered if anyone else has noticed it. quite heavy rain this evening but the clouds look different to normal, non existant in fact albeit a couple of really small dark low clouds. looks like it shouldnt be raining and we should have just a hazy evening?
cheers

Feels really humid here but it might be cider related....

Very promising BBC Points West forecast from Ian Fergusson this evening.
It showed cloud building into the SW/West Country by this time tomorrow with scattered showers - from experience of these set ups
I'd suggest a lot of AltCas in 24 hours time with sporadic sharp showers.
Whether they develop through the evening is open to question but it must be possible given there's going to be a war, moist plume
pushing North from France and a front/LOW moving in from the Atlantic.
Ian's forecast showed rain with embedded thunderstorms spreading North through tomorrow night with, at the stage, the heaviest rain
expected in the early daylight hours of Thursday (5am ish).
cant remember the last time we had night time lightning, what night time was designed for, amongst other things!

Angry cloud formation just past over wookey hole, sudden hail shower, albeit soft hail.heavy rain also, on phone so no radar etc.

nice one DB, think im a little too far north to get a slice of the action this evening!
Good to get lighting at night as well!
