  1. Haha. Before phone screens TVs were pretty crucial for entertainment purposes. Not forgetting teletext for the weather/ski center updates
  2. Before going to bed last night it was crisp, -7c and you could hear a pin drop. Quite the difference 12 hrs can make IMG_3075.mov
  3. Merry Christmas folks! After a frosty start and some sleety mince it’s just started snowing and this is the snowiest Christmas Day outlook we’ve had for absolute years. Slàinte!!
  4. As with others about two to 3 inches of snow cover here, which is now getting rained on. Ach well, cools again a bitty for Christmas Day and the following week by the looks
  5. A hellish day’s weather has been somewhat improved by the arrival of snow showers here
  6. A low of -12c to start yesterday and -13.5c this morning making it a cold weekend for sure! Been beautiful out though Few of us booked up for the euros next year after traveling away to watch some honking Scotland teams over the years it feels so much better these days, slightly less masochistic anyway
  7. Low of -7.1 today with a 1c max and -5.9c currently. Nice crisp and clear day to start December, lovely at sun down.
  8. Prob 3 to 4 inches cover this morning with showers and an enjoyably snowy commute, particularly passing the reliably wintry Aultnaslanach stretch of the A9
  9. Mornin’. Smattering of snow from showers at tea time yesterday turned in to a nice wee covering over night. -1c
  10. *rises like Nosferatu from the casket* Been a while folks. Thought I better check in for the annual Scottish winter shenanigans. Hope you’re all well. Have had some ‘gentle’ wintry weather of late, frosts, couple of ice days and a dusting in the last 2 wks. First skiff of snow was the evening of October 14th. Here’s hoping for a snow-fest and not a snooze-fest this season. Not long back from the in-laws in Harris. Mixed bag of everything, mild, bitter, gales, calm. Always bonnie.
  11. Snow line around 200m today with heavy showers blowing in and some mean looking skies to the north of Inverness a wee while ago
  12. Weather has felt very manic over the last 48hrs. Frequent showers of rain/sleet/ some wet snow thrown in, glorious sunshine, high winds. Currently lashing rain. Have been enjoying these vids on the inhabitants of Yakutia. Tad chilly
  13. Valid observation sorry aye, I do zoom in to watch the snow flakes at full effect, I’ve not got any counterfeit in my shed, promise
  14. Beautiful sunrise through in aberdeenshire this morning Have been watching the snow back home remotely via our wee security camera. It makes a click every time I activate it which is driving the wife nuts looks like another big skelp is falling this morn
  15. As others within the Amber area noted, it wasn’t anything exceptional last night. An inch fell in showers and there was drifting in the usual spots. This morning though we got a few solid hours of heavy snow and 4 inches or more Now through in aberdeenshire for a couple of nights with work, cold, calm and clear with a biting wind earlier
  16. Very little more snow overnight but showers feeding in again this morning. Lamp post has gone hipster and sporting an ice beard
  17. Some awesome spells of snow to be out and about in today. Probably around 10cm fell in Inverness in the afternoon with prolonged showers earlier this evening also. Lovely, light powdery stuff to be out in, very drifty.. tomo evening could get pretty tasty with gales accompanying the snowfall
  18. Couple of inches fell before bed last before freezing up. -8c and snowing as I set-off this morning so it’s certainly feeling like proper January out
  19. A small covering here from yesterday evening’s showers, with anything 400m+ seeing more. Few blustery snow showers earlier with what looks like heftier ones inbound from the north west over next few hrs. -0.2c and a few ice days ahead, much more preferable to the dank mess of the past week
  20. Wet, cold and generally baws week to be out working in with some frosty starts. It was snowing for a wee bitty early Wednesday morning but not lying. Today started lovely with some blue skies with rain showers from mid-afternoon. Currently 1.1c and sleet, hoping it’ll get more interesting than that
  21. Just surprised to see BBC Scotland news with a positive Scottish angle. “Scotland’s temperatures lag behind the rest of Europe” is more in keeping with their editorial spin Not much to note weather-wise. Milder conditions with some snow still hanging about. Boring January stuff
  22. 4 to 5 inches of sticky stuff after snowing all morning, out-with the warning area (of course). Snow starting this year like the rest and treating boundary lines like arbitrary irrelevances
  23. Very nice last day of the year, not nudging above zero at home with the ice creating an airplane window vibe this morning. Jaunt with the dog near Loch Ness was fresh but lovely. Very light snow showers last hour and -3c. Happy New year when it comes folks hope it’s a snowy one for you
