Shower passed now but still lots of ice on the ground. Feels really thundery outside. I know that sounds strange but it just does. Expecting more thunder as the next shower hits land.
Sorry but someone said that the precip was 50 miles away, was 6 hours away and so was moving at 0.8 MPH? How on earth can 0.8 x6 =50!
LOL!
Well I hope you midlanders get some snow tonight.
Isn't this low the shortwave that was talked about yesterday on the model output thread? I remember someone saying that it could "bring some lively weather to some people".I remember thinking that I should keep an eye on it.
More people on the wales thread reporting frequent lightning.
PS, I wouldn't think the mountains would weaken the convection that much as it's caused by forcing around the low isn't it?
I believe that faulce radar readings are called
"anaprop",
though I have probably spelled it rong.
About the precipitation over wales, the best thing about the weather in the NW is the unexpected things that sometimes seem to happen
Well then that's strange you would think with the high SSTs and cold 850's that there would be at least some convection out there. Maybe it's the lower dewpoints?
I havent had a shower since 16:00. Any chance I might get one now the winds coming off the sea? Usually we're the first to get them. We got hammerd on sonday/monday
Had more thunder and torrential hail about half an hour ago, now just had another hail shower with an anisial rumble of thunder and strong winds. It's like as if as soon as each shower makes landfall it starts popping off with lightning.
Thats 5 thundery hail showers this evening.
And now it's starting to hail again!
