sorry about our differences but I knew things were heading in the right directonHaha me too, blizzzards across wales any time soon hopefully, its just the nerves and anticipation of it, but be fair the met didnt say anything before 3am so may be bang on now.

Heavy rain here now, and up in Giflach at over 200m asl, this is going to need a remarkable turnaround if the forecasts are to manifest. Current temp 3C DP 2C
Well it wasnt meant to start until after 3, someone keep the hope alive please otherwise so many people will be dissappointed including me

I don't mean to be a doom merchant but I speak from experience and interpreting the charts the best way I can. i hope I'm wrong though :-)
my elevation is only slightly less than yours and i can see the beacons thru my window so im still hoping and others further south are reporting snow so hopefully you are wrong

After lurking for many of years with the odd post, cant resist this one as I can confirm it is snowing in Cwmavon.

Air temp and dewpoint now at 2C here in Tonyrefail, wind also just started to pick up, this is going to be an intense band as you can see a strong convergence developing over the thermal gradient. Interesting times but i fear some will be disappointed. Upper south wales valleys could get a pounding, Swansea & Cardiff most probably rain, sleet or wet snow.
Please say your joking about wet snow for swansea and cardiff

i bought a new sledge today so i best not hav jyxed it and got loads supplies, oh well if it goes wrong il convert my sledge into a boat for the rain that is always forecast correct for here in wales haha

That's not the main band of precipitation. There's more to come that isn't in range of the radar yet. Have a look at sat24.com and you should be able to see the rest on satellite.

looking at rain today theres showers pepping up by tenby? and i dont know if its the main band behind but it doesnt look like taking long to hit south wales? im getting confused still dont understand everything sorry for the confusion

oh the anticipation of this event is killing me, i hope the amounts forecast are right, but im still so nervous due to so many let downs hope this is the one we have all been waiting for in wales

Is any one in wales going to be sleeping tonight then? because i know im not, how do you find out regions that are affected by the warnings on the met office can never get them to come up?

Not going to happen. As Crackpot said, there's nothing in the charts to suggest it, and I've never ever seen it happen with an Atlantic system.
Thanks for the reassurance was getting worried, hadnt heard it mentioned anywhere else so im at rest again now, and light snow is still falling.
