Minus 1 I n Basingstoke, 4th morning in a row with a hard frost. Got to laugh at how bad the net weather forecast is, currently it says it’s 3 degrees just the 4 degrees out.

I’m drawing a line now.. it’s late January/ early February for anything of note.. and that alone needs to be seen in evolvement form!!.. it’s turning out to be a so near yet so far winter!.. it’s completely frustrating!!!!!!!
I don’t even think it’s been so near so far, the chase before Christmas never had any really exciting weather and this mini Chase has been lame from day one. It’s just been a terrible winter so far, if we don’t get any cold February I hope Spring isn’t like last year, give me warmth.

528 Dam is way north. Not sure over dew points and wind direction. Looks pretty rank tbh
Agreed, I’m not seeing anything good about that.

As its not going to snow now I’d love to see wind and gales, anything that makes me happy to be indoors out of the weather. I work outside all year and it’s always the same at Christmas, the week or so off the weather is great for working outside.

Place your bets on the next frame, north south or none of the above

Low Pressure will simply pass over the UK as it always does in these situations, it will only be cold enough to snow in a line from Cumbria northwards in my opinion.
Every year this happens, as soon as you see cold modelling being pushed back on the charts its obvious which way it will go.
One only needs to see the Ensembles anywhere south of the Midlands to see this cold snap around 27-29 will be confined to Midlands North and a quick (but temporary) return to Westerlies follows.
Im not holding much hope for seeing a cold and snowy winter in the UK at all this Winter, those times have gone just isnt going to happen...ever.
Never ever again what a load of chugnutting rubbish

For a better chance of snow for here in the SE, I’d still prefer all this lot to push further south allowing an east to north easterly over us. That’s our best direction.
Nice channel low to bring a foot of snow then a bitter north easterly bringing heavy snow showers. Perfect.

You're either talking about me, or Marco. Marco is a literal Met Office meteorologist, and I've been talking about blocked/cold conditions for mid December since November 19th.
So...
I was talking about Marco the literal

Actually found this spell much more oppressive than any time in 2018,19 or 20. Lot more humid i've found. To be honest 2018 was a really good summer heat wise, nothing that uncomfortable in my area, just the lack of rain for the countryside resulted in a scorched earth appearance!
2018 was a great summer, sunny but comfortable unlike this week which has been disgusting

Working outside will make next week disgusting. It’s weeks like this I wish I hadn’t arsed around at school/college and had a nice job in an office with air conditioning .
