  1. East England is forecast widespread outbreaks of winter sunshine on Thursday, so anything is possible
  2. Why would you stay up for an event that was not due to start till the morning??
  3. What are you lot on about, for those in the amber area it was never forecast to get going till early morning.. The warning only starts from now .
  4. WWW.METEOCIEL.FR Meteociel propose de manière régulière le modèle à maille fine EURO4 0.04° du UK MetOffice (météo angaise) sur 5 zones (France, Nord-Ouest, Nord-Est, Sud-Ouest, Sud-Est et pays limitrophes) weather model euro4 h model - united kingdom - rain/snowfall [base + 3] | weatheronline WWW.WEATHERONLINE.CO.UK Weather for UK, Ireland and the world. 5. Depends, the warning matrix on the amber supports the chance of a red. It all depends where the highest totals occur. A foot of snow on the north downs or an isolated costal strip will cause much less chaos, then say a foot of snow in Ipswich.
  6. Indeed and at the same time its a wind up seeing historic snowfall event unfolding just to the southeast and we might get a dusting if very lucky. Can't even travel to see it because of covid
  7. Yep for the lucky few that get hit by Sundays front, and shower streams afterwards but for the majority of the region its much dryer then was forecast a day or 2 ago
  8. Sadly any significant falls look isolated now, pity. Going by some snow amount charts some lucky spot could see a historic snow event
  9. Sunday looks a bust imby now. Then get to watch as showers set up to the north and south for Monday/Tuesday
  10. Another bust for the Majority of East Anglia again, my guess even in more favored locations. Rain/sleet is a much higher risk then last weekends event.
  11. Will be right on the dividing line yet again, never known a Winter like it.
  12. Only GFS and ECM look good for me imby. Most of the more hi-res models show it further south. If the front dose slow and pivot, somewhere in the region could hit the jackpot https://weather.us/model-charts/standard/england/significant-weather/20210124-1700z.html
  13. Been odd this Winter for East Anglia, as if I'm right your snowfall has come from frontal events. Norfolk normally is best situated from snow showers from the north sea.
  14. You are right 80s was very hit n miss in this area. I remember talking to an old poster "weatherwise" at the time from Bedford and was crazy at the time, how many times the Bedford Huntington area missed out and Camboune got lucky even Cambridge see no where near as much was very localised in this area
  15. 09 was about 10-15 cm I think. Dec 16-17 2010 was about a foot
  16. Shows how hit and miss snow can be. I was in Cambourne, where u are now at that time had some of the best snowfalls I've seen in this area.
  17. Only Dan C, could make it seem like your everyday UK weather forecast.
  18. Just use the obliviate charm if she finds out I wonder what the spell for snow is? And if to much use of it, could cause hot headedness
  19. Not sure what forum. But anyone remember. "Will it snow in Carlisle" themed post's.
  20. Brother just told/showed me similar he,s between Hardwick and Cambourne ( near the garage) in Cambridge its rain after a brief heavy hail shower.
  21. Thinking back to old forums I remember reading a newsgroup/Usenet?? UK.si or something (Will Hand) Springs to mind as someone who posted their, ukweatherworld forum and TWO.
  22. I've been lurking from the start to. And as others have said I found NW after the BBC Snow watch!
  23. I think they are OTT with the warnings to cover their selfs. As sadly if someone slips or has an "accident" on ice or a dusting of snow. It can't be an accident or their own fault and some people will look to blame someone else
