  1. lol - you got to admit, it's about the most snow-free line in the region!
  2. Follow the line back from Gilesgate... awful.
  3. I had a brief butcher's today. Is the southern/central blizzard back on? Don't think it'll reach here. East Ireland is going to get close to a METRE of snow. That's the big story.
  4. Here's hoping. Sorry for the downer, guys.. I know that's how I am, but today has been particularly crap in real life terms.
  5. It seems to me that the N Sea isn't nearly as full as I thought it would be or as it has been in the past. What is happening is that the showers are intensifying over land... though often after passing the coastal strip.
  6. I saw that. Seems to be happening everywhere but here!
  7. Not sure I'm up to watching everywhere else get plastered while Durham gets all the insignificant crap tbh.
  8. In all seriousness, can anyone tell me why this is all grains and whether it will be flakes at some point?
  9. Southern parts of the region look favoured currently looking at the showers out there.
  10. Same here. Showers to my north and south but bugger all here.
  11. Sounds like a particularly acute shower. :-D I'll get me coat...
  12. There's something about the combination of your tendency to spread bad charts/forecasts and that avatar that just really gets me...
  13. At the moment I'm struggling to see how this will even come close to a 2010-type event in terms of the power of the N Sea.
  14. I had the triple whammy: stayed up till 3... woke wife up when I went to bed, she went mad... then son woke up and didn't get him back to sleep till 5... result: 1 and a half hours' sleep.
  15. I'm getting pretty fed up with heavy showers of snowgrains!
  16. Meto reckons after about 4pm is when we should start to see more significant activity.
  17. Given there is already 15cms in parts of Kent, my faith in those charts, especially where convection is concerned, is not particularly great.
  18. WHen the heavy stuff comes it's graupel. As it dies off slightly it turns to flakes. Clearly there's scientific reason... but I don't know what it is!
  19. What is needed for flakes rather than this graupel-fest?
  20. My perfect road ruined by the bin men! Anywhere else in the country they wouldn't be used enough to snow to still be running in these conditions!
