Sporadic peeks into Madmod during the last couple of days. I assume the mood swings from agony to ecstasy depending on which run it is. Currently, I think, they are edging towards, if not actually in the spare Oom wardrobe that leads to Narnia….
Having just walked two dogs through driving rain and puddles and come back soaked to the core, all I can say is bring on the dry weather please please please!
Madmod thread should be a weather phenomena in its own right. Gone in 50 seconds. I swear I looked in there an hour ago and everything happily ticketiboo. Now? Back to faux cold chase at day 10.
The Greg Lake Effect has manifested all dreary wet day! Is there a reverse Greg Lake Effect where this veil of tears turns to curtains of snow? If this had been snow all day it would have been spectacular. Bah and humbug…..
Well chez nous it’s a murky misty mizzle 4.5c.. I take a peek into madmod every now and then but can generally tell from who posted last whether it’s going to be Waterworld or The Day after Tomorrow.
Tree down over main valley road am and once again, numerous points of surface flooding. Seems to be petering out rain wise, but still squally winds. Power down in the hamlets further up the valley. Fortunately we have power down here.
Wind and rain ramping up now from a fairly quiet and soggy night. Cat wanted to go out, changed mind, used the (thoughtfully placed by me) emergency storm cat-tray.
Ooh I say! I am pleased with the result. Would never get the rise of a 3 day sourdough based proper flour Panettone but deeply deeply happy with the -visual- result. Waiting for total cooling before the taste test.
We had a lovely Solstice - we always cook a special dinner and this year it was duck breast. Today I will mostly be making a Panettone cake that only needs 1 day to make, rather than traditional 3. A good baking day I think, as it’s mostly drekky rain today. Have a good day.
Not sure if that would be it for us? We are well north of you and the wind is north westerly so can’t see how that would impact us. But then I know naff all about the subject….
