Written earlier in the day and misposted to the wettest day Wales thread…. Cloudy and mild day. Currently 21c, but feeling a wee cooler under the cloud. Rather lovely day for gentle pootering, baking bread while listening to Mozart Flute concertos. Watching the bees and butterflies on the asters and sedums and deadheading/weeding garden. What’s not to like. Edited 6 hours ago by snefnug

Purely anecdotally and looking through the window research, local squirrels burying tree nuts like billio. However, the adage ‘many berries=hard winter’ probs not right this year, unless the trees know something we don’t. I’ve never seen more laden Hawthorne, Rowan or holly, our valley trees are bejewelled.

Absolutely no idea what’s going on, weather wise, from Met Office website. We’ve gone from overnight torrential rain to slow moving rain to mizzle, according to their symbols, within the space of an hour. Wind has picked up a tad. A ridiculously mild evening but the mist has hung about all day so it’s seemed almost winter. A fire is burning in the log burner for winter cheer.

A bit jolly wet and a tad fresh this morning. Long sleeved cardigan out and on. Today at least am looks a washout for garden and Oswestry Show, but should be drier if very very mudworthy pm. Hells bells, them farmers are used to it though. Me, I shall clad me dainty feet in wellies and go do slug and snail hurling in the breaks between the rain. I wonder, if the windy winds wander our way, the slugs might go further, gale assisted and all…….

According to METO storm forecast on YouTube, the warning is primarily because of the impact, Aiden kept emphasising school holidays, camping, out door events etc, as opposed to damaging gusts ripping up trees, so have they changed the criteria for this storm, at this time of year?
